About Me

"Jocanovic are a humble four piece band from the town of Cowbridge in the country of Wales.
Pete Booth, Jack Massie, Rhys o’Leary and Dave Taylor started playing in Jacks bedroom and slowly they progressed all the way to Rhys o ‘Leary’s barn, gaining Emyr Davies along the way.
Jack Massie vocalist/guitarist is the quirked up songwriter along with Emyr. Most likely to be seen wondering the streets of queen street or going through your bins .
Emyr Davies is the food junkie/ale guzzling/guitarist/violinist/vocalist. He can speak so much crap he actually made a man's head implode…I’m not kidding.
And finaly, Rhys O’leary- wanted convict, wandering the streets after breaking an old mans fence on bass and backing vocals. Vicious tendencies to drunkenly jump out of windows should be taken into account.
Oh yeah, and there's David Taylor who plays the drums…im not even gonna start with him.
The boys natural habitat tends to be on the streets of cowbridge, if your lucky you may catch them prowling around the kebab shop at night, red eyed and blood thirsty. Or you may catch them strutting their stuff in the likes of Cardiff Barfly, the Point and many other venues. To be honest I don’t have a clue what kind of music they play….. Buuut I think some kind of Indie ?"

Sounds Like: THE POINT - JAN 23rd 07 "JOCANOVIC * * * * * These guys were absolutely amazing! They were really upbeat and happy sounding and they reminded me of Artic Monkeys. Their upbeat high pitched sounding chords made them really catchy and were quite different to any other of the bands I heard that night. The basslines were really funky and sounded quite high pitched too but it sounded cool. With the style they were playin and the way they were playing, all of the instruments went together perfectly. The change of guitar to violin was well worked and it sounded good with the rest of the instruments and it blended in well with the style. The drum beats were amazing and so unique, something that caught my ear about them was the occasional pauses for vocal solos and clapping, they were well timed and worked perfectly. The clapping worked well because it got the crowd involved to a certain extent so it drew more attention to them and getting them noticed more. Jocanovic have perfect potential and should start looking for a record deal somewhere."- POP FACTORY - JULY 27th 07 Jocavonic - I can see why this band won Band of the Year, their performance was nothing short of terrific. Quite nice to see a good quality alternative band play at Teen Spirit and I really enjoyed their performance. There seemed to be a fair amount of effort put into their show however they also seemed to come across as another stereotypical indie act based on their image. With that said, the band was easily band of the night and I look forward to seeing them again in the near future.

BARFLY - 12th NOVEMBER 06 JOCANOVIC * * * * This sparky energetic band have a sense of crazyness that makes them want to experiment with different instruments and they do it well. Their uplifting chords and ballad like choruses give you a good feeling inside and makes you wanna hear more. An interesting mix of tempo between the drums and the rhythm guitar works extremely well - unexpectedley - pulling off a stunt that you wouldn't think possible. Perfect music to cheer yourself up with and hop round the moshpits with a smile on your face.
