Hey Tiger is a versatile rock band, blending elements from a wide range of influences into a focused original sound.
This band has already made believers out of rock fans at home. Last year they won the "Have a Nice Gig" contest sponsored by New York's WPLJ-FM, where the station selected the area's best unsigned band. That achievement resulted in an opening slot at Bon Jovi's July 18th performance at Giants Stadium. They also performed live on The Big Show with Scott and Todd for over 1 million listeners.
The band's first release, 1.0, was a limited-release 3-song EP featuring their first single, "Breathe," that only hinted at their potential. At the end of 2005, the band released September, their debut full-length. It's a varied, ten-song set of radio-ready rock songs, led by the catchy "I Don't Mind" and the drum and bass groove of "Elizabeth."
Christina Alessi simply owns everything she sings: spitting fire and singing seductively, expressing passion, longing and regret with confidence. The vibrant rhythm section of Jim Lovegrove (bass) and Joshua Bicknell (drums) coupled with the tasteful guitars and production of Wayne Dorell provide the perfect platform for Alessi's voice. She drives the songs, telling her stories of heartbreak and romantic fulfillment with the assurance of a young Nancy Wilson.
The band has written a stack of new songs and is currently in the studio recording the anticipated follow-up to September.
