This Machine (NEW ALBUM IN 2008)

Enigmatic Simplicity or Colloquial Intricacy

About Me

This Machine generates a unique and original sonic correlation that is both edgy and agile yet unwavering in groove. Intricately piercing guitar riffs, tonally complex bass pulsations and, aggressively precise percussion culminate beneath a layer of vocals that shimmer with clarity and trembling with anxious rage. This Machine’s discography begins with 2000’s four song EP entitled, The Mechanics of Innocence and is followed by the quartet’s first full-length album, 2003’s Looks Like Life. This Machine is also featured on 540, an independently released compilation album promoting underground bands in the southwest Virginia area in fall of 2003. This Machine’s most recent album, 2005’s Inventing Demise precedes several stints of touring beginning weeks after its release and scatter through out 2006. Their spans of shows stretch from southwest Virginia through Tennessee, North & South Carolina, Kentucky, and trek back again into southern West Virginia. Key performances have included concerts with other independent bands involving support for VH1’s Save the Music as well as benefits for The American Cancer Society. This Machine continues into the New Year performing their energetic live sets, now inter-mingled with newly written songs that are quickly gaining enthusiastic approval and becoming fan favorites. These live debuts stem from a growing catalog of material that is presently being compiled for This Machine’s forth-coming album. Recording for their much-anticipated album is scheduled to begin in late March of 2007. The upcoming album from This Machine promises to an even further progression in their sonic intensity and their most impressive offering to date. Myspace Layouts+
