About Me

I'M HAPPILY, MONOGAMOUSLY MARRIED. I was lucky enough to find my soulmate in this lifetime. He is an amazing person! He's funny, smart, gorgeous, and such a generous, loving person. We have 3 furry babies - Zilla, Buddy, & Malcolm.
In October of 2006 I quit the corporate rat race to start my own home business designing and making belly dance clothing. Check out my website!! www.akashawear.com I love dancing, I love sewing, so why not combine the two!
I also love performing. I've been in dance shows, plays, stage combat performances, and more since I could walk. I love to sing, but unfortunately only have the opportunity in the shower or at karaoke. Someday I'll get to sing in a band! ;) For now I occupy my spare time with performing belly-fusion-dance around Minneapolis and singing and acting in shows my theatrical group, Alternative Artist Collective, produce and take part in.
I love to travel, but I haven't been to enough places. Scotland and Hawaii are the farthest I've gotten away. Been to San Fran, and all along the East Coast. I've been to New Orleans twice, LOVE that city! But it's hard to leave my babies behind!
A lot of animals are smarter than a lot of humans. Unfortunately I didn't figure this out until well into my adult life. Now I don't eat animals, and I do my best NOT to contribute to the abuse or death of them (products, testing, etc.). If you want more info on that, PLEASE, send me an email and I'll shoot some great websites your way. Shoot the dumb people, leave the animals alone. (ok, for those of you who take things too literally, that last sentence was sarcasm, people. ;)

Freddie Mercury, 'cuz he was so amazingly talented and I grew up listening to him. It was a sad, sad day when he died. Anne Rice, because she is an amazing story teller and she inspired my creativity to write. The poet Alan Ramsay for giving me the writing genes (my ancestor). Ghandi (read my heros section). Whomever created the combination of peanut butter & chocolate.

Books:

Most anything with a historical, outside-the-US geographical nature. When I was 11 I read QUEEN OF THE DAMNED, which is what turned me onto this genre and got my writing juices going. Just read THE HISTORIAN, it was great! I would love to be able to have access to ancient books. Man, those people are lucky. Ah, the mysteries in history. So intriguing! Love Phillipa Gregory's books.
