Hey everybody. So I've been asked to write a little about myself. Well, I'm a piano player/singer/songwriter and I also play guitar. I've been very fortunate over the years having played with lots of the great musicians ranging from Wynton Marsalis , Tony Bennett, to Johnny Adams. Since I was a kid, I've played in the biggest dive bars you can imagine and also some amazing concert halls, outdoor festivals, great clubs, and even floating theaters at sea. My mentor/teacher and friend is Dr. John and I can say that I am blessed to have had the opportunity to learn from a master.
As far as my music goes, I'm just trying to write songs that move people and have something to say. If my music makes you feel sad, joyous, or anything else after hearing it, then I guess I've done my job. When I get onstage to perform, well that's the only place in the world I want to be at that time. I will give you everything I have and more because I have to- Play like it's the last show you'll ever do is my motto.
I grew up in Kansas City and started playing in blues clubs when i was a teenager. New York City is my home , specifically Brooklyn, but I also feel a close kinship to New Orleans. It's hard to put into words what that city means to me but having been there right up until Hurricane Katrina and spent a lot of time there since, I can say that it's one of the most important and influential places in my life as an artist.
I hope you dig the music and come out to the shows. Come say hi and feel free to email me here and I'll get back to you as much as I can. Other than that, all I can say is "let the music play"
