About Me

Steve is a multi-talented guitarist, producer, composer, arranger, and songwriter
based in New York City.
Music was something that I had an ear for even as a child growing up in suburban Minneapolis/St. Paul Minnesota: listening to the radio, finding a melody or rhythm particularly interesting when watching a movie or a television show, and of course the sounds created when banging on a makeshift drum set made of pots and pans! As a teenager, I began playing guitar and found myself instantly attached to the instrument with all the endless possibilities of sounds, harmonies and rhythms that were possible from it.
Currently I reside in New York City playing for a variety of groups, including The Stingers, Hot Peas 'N Butter, Josh Charles, Kirsten Thien, Allison Scola, Brother Joscephus, Vaya! and the improvised comedy-musical Baby Wants Candy. In addition to performances, I am also an composer and arranger, writing for a variety of performers and groups, including scores for the short film "A Family Portrait" and the independent feature film "Shadow Boxer." I am also a producer, recently producing an EP with singer/songwriter Josh Charles which is currently available on iTunes.
If you are interested in an arrangement, recording project, in need of a talented and fun guitarist, or if you just want to say "hello" please send me a message through myspace.
Professional GUITARIST
Available for recording and performances. I consider myself a versatile musician with a professional attitude, having the knowledge, experience and ability to play the styles appropriate for the performance.
