About Me

We don't book shows or events! Contact spaces directly. We also don't check this myspace account frequently, so if you'd like to get involved, just come to a meeting.About the SeattleDIY Collective:
SeattleDIY is a collective whose mission is to promote and support the DIY ethos and community in Seattle. Our goal is to help this large and nebulous group of people stay informed about what the community is doing, hopefully leading to greater communication, participation, and collaboration.
Our Values:
We believe in being the creators of culture rather than consumers. We believe in promoting a just society that supports itself through mutual aid and without hierarchies. We believe in fighting against institutionalized oppression (racism, sexism, ageism/adultism, and homophobia), and we support environmental justice, animal rights, egalitarianism, and human rights.
We have a few projects currently:
SeattleDIY.org & the Community Calendar
The SeattleDIY Collective's Guide To Seattle
SeattleDIY Monthly Community Newsletter
plus occasional benefit events at various venues (like Carousel Fest ).
We're always trying to expand into other projects, too.
For our Community Calendar, all events should abide by the following guidelines:
* All ages.
* Is in Seattle or the immediate area.
* Everyone is welcome regardless of sexuality, gender, race, age, etc.
* The event and venue are neither commercial nor driven by motivations of profit.
* It is an event of active interest to the "DIY scene."
For more information/clarifications about "DIY," refer to this article on Wikipedia.org
