Marsellus: 'The night of the fight, you may feel a slight sting.'
In fall 2004, Dillon Fiore and Josh Carples discussed the beginning of a new musical endeavor which would soon become known as Marsellus. Fiore and Carples had just recently walked away from other projects in search for something new, fresh and different.
Marsellus began as a trio. Carples played guitar and sang; Fiore played bass; and they worked with various drummers along the way. In 2005, the trio recorded a self-titled, 3-song EP and started playing locally before branching out as a regional band.
In late 2006, Marsellus welcomed William Tuner to the band. A long-time friend of the band, Turner’s addition included keyboard, guitar and vocals, which took the band’s music to an entirely new level.
In early 2008, the band found themselves without a drummer. Justin Taylor joined Marsellus on drums, completing the line-up. Taylor had previously toured with Amity Lane, which featured members from TRUST Company.
Marsellus has become known around the Southeast for their energetic live shows. Their music has been heard on various radio stations, including WXFX 95.1 the Fox, WTGZ 95.9/104.9 the Tiger and WAUD AM1230.
They have also shared the stage with many bands, some of which include Mute Math (Warner Bros.), Silvertide (J Records/Arista), The Roman Candle (V2 Records), The Villebillies (Universal) and Baumer (Eyeball Records).
