History and imagination hardly can trace both the portrait and life of an explorer such Sebastian Caboto. Fascinated by this incertitude, Caboto try to pronounce electricity, convulsion, wanderer music. Rock of escapes or soundtracks for uncovered roads of images? As well as for the mysterious navigator the band draws its name from, it’s hard to distinguish between the visionary exploration of some distant lands’ signals and the rough sailor addicted to alcohol and brothels.

Officially born in Bologna, Italy, 2000, an embryonic line-up met from january 1999. Early months went by beside a meditated “shaping†of the first delirious results; so 2001 was the right time for the debut album Nauta, released by the american label Scenester and distributed both in USA and Italy. In this work, which has been able to gain important opinions, the contribution of some guest instruments (accordion, trumpet, flicorn) often turns out with a really characteristic mood.
If on one side those experiences have not been repeated yet, 2002 however is the year for a saxophone to get steadily into the line-up after having worked on Cactus Transistor, track for the “15 italian dishes†compilation set by the italian label Raving Records with valid proposals from our national indie overview. In 2003 a new guitars adds to Caboto and that same year, in November, the band with Raving Records produces and releases Did You Get Visuals?, second album distributed by Wide Records, narrative and unitary work that attracts imediately all the magazines and fanzines. The band promoted its music with concerts and cross-performances with video artworks, then recorded its third studio album Hidden Or Just Gone, released in the spring of 2006. Besides, free on the Internet the periodical project Freeboto is available: a sort of sound diary proposing fragments from the improvisation process at the rehearsals.
