Music has been a part of Tracy Mitchell's life since the early age of six. Tracy has been inspired by greats such as Stevie Wonder, Prince, Chaka Khan, Donny Hathaway, Marvin Gaye and George Benson. Tracy released Sweet Blaqberry Jam in February 2003 independently. He has been a back up vocalist and guitar player for the legendary Fontella Bass (who's hit "Rescue Me" has been hitting the radio waves since 1965), for 10 years. Sweet Blaqberry Jam is Tracy Mitchell's debut album as he moves full steam ahead toward a solo career. Sweet Blaqberry Jam is a sweet blend of smooth, soulful vocals and tasteful jazzy rhythms. There is something on this cd for people from all walks of life to enjoy! Tracy has shared the stage with many talented artists such as, Legendary singer Fontella Bass, the late, legendary jazz trumpeter Lester Bowie, Defunkt, Bahnamous Bowie (Keyboardist for Amel Larrieux) Take 6, Heston, Kevin Mahogany, Michael Bolton, Tim Cunningham and many others. Tracy has performed nationally and internationally.
