'Triumph' New Record Coming Soon 2008!

About Me

"Triumph" - is the new release from Qumaru.
"Triumph" - is a celebration of her life's journey that began in High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire, U.K. and has landed her in Beverly Hills where she has made her home for the last 10 years. Like her life "Triumph" has been influenced by not only the great artists of yesterday and today but also by the great and not so great events that she has experienced.
"I believe there's a reason why I was born and raised a Pakistani Muslim woman in a Western world. Perhaps to empower women to believe in themselves, to learn to love life and to embrace all of our gifts. It is common knowledge that women of my heritage have been severely oppressed..........................................."
Unlike a lot of music you hear today, "Triumph" is a story with a beginning, middle and an end.
"It began with me recording just my voice for my friend and producer Jimi Randolph. He wanted to hear these chapters of my life so he could get a feel for the songs we were about to write. Within days we knew exactly where we were going. Those words I spoke to him inspired the music that in turn inspired my lyrics. With instruments like tabla, sitar, drums and a lot of guitars I think our style is kind of unique and definitely not Top 40 or Hip Hop. Jimi says it's Rocker-ish, Electronica-ish, Funky, Soul Folk music. I say it's just me!
I'd love to hear from you, be my friend:) For info and updates join my mailing list. All my influences listed I owe credit to as they have inspired me to get to the place I am today both musically & personally as.... well you'll just have to stick with me and trust me to take you on my journey as my story unfolds through my songs:)"

The Path to Wholeness

We think that God has blessed us if we don't have too many troubles. In fact, religions have erroneously taught us that pain is punishment for our sins. We often ask, "What have I done wrong?" when th...
