There is simply nothing like LUPER DUPREE in the music world today. From the young in age to the baby boomers, there is something for everyone. With an inspiring new sound and fun catchy tracks, you will surely enjoy listening to “LD in LA”. So “Take out the Garbage” and stay “Strong” and remember: “Ice Chip Candy” is the best of foods.
LUPER DUPREE, the brainchild of singer-songwriter, author and Southern California native Troy Amidon, was formed not long ago in Los Angeles. Troy’s previous musical group made a few albums, toured the USA extensively, and garnered much success in the college and underground scene which led to a national distribution deal. On the cusp of commercial success, a member of the band disappeared which led Troy into a few solitary years of writing and soul searching and thusly, LUPER DUPREE was born. During the span of that time period, Troy went through an almost insurmountable surge of tragedy and grief due to the loss of many of his close friends. As a result, Troy wrote his first full length novel, Living and Dying in Los Angeles, and these songs from “LD in LA” which go along with the book as a soundtrack.
For most, two years of life can slip by in the blink of a bashful eye while for others two years can bring enough memories, both good and bad, to last a lifetime. Living and Dying in Los Angeles is one man’s compelling novel from the shadows of young Hollywood in its purest rock and roll ways. From the highest forms of elation to the furthest depths of despair, an unbelievable true tale has been born of destiny and tragedy. Los Angeles is a place where legends are made, and that is just what happened. Surrounded by the famous and soon to be stars, Living and Dying in Los Angeles chronicles Troy Amidon’s interesting journey within the inner circle of musicians, artists, actors and celebrities who give life to the heart of LA, resulting in one of the most unique, shocking, and unpredictable stories of our time.
Troy is a writer of non-fiction, fiction, and poetry, as well as an accomplished musician and songwriter from Southern California who has toured the USA many times over making albums and operating his own record label. He graduated with a degree in English and Creative Writing from San Diego State University. Troy has led an incomparable and unusual life and as Living and Dying in Los Angeles will attest, his true story is one for the ages. With Living and Dying in Los Angeles and it’s soundtrack, “LD in LA”, Troy has developed and created a whole new approach with a flowing combination of literature and song.
