Hey guys!
I'm a 19yr old rock infused hippy! Haha I grew up in the country and moved down to the Gold Caost on Big Day out 2005 for university and am doing Bachelor of Popular Music (http://www.griffith.edu.au/school/qcgu/bpm/) at Griffith. Prior to this year, I was a solo artist, but have now just formed a band and we've called ourselves Chase.
At the moment I'm really trying to write globally aware songs as the monotony of mainstream love disasters is really starting to piss me off :-) In saying that though, the songs that I've posted up at the moment are pretty much that, so I guess that defeats the purpose of saying that. My stuff is usually like a mix between Alanis Morisette, The Cranberries and Evanescence...but then some of it is just totally spastic so I really don't know what it sounds like...ME I GUESS!!!!!!
The first song is a demo I whacked together for the band. Its quirky, its wierd and I winged the bridge in the studio after about 56 hrs of no sleep. The best way I can describe the structure of it is a small series of chapters. The intro is a bit long, but I haven't really sussed the song out yet so I'll change that later on.
The second song is a bit different for me as its really nice lol. Its quite a neat little ballad that means alot to me. I think I'll leave it sit for the moment, but eventually I'd like to rock this tune up a bit!
The third song up there is just an acoustic number i slapped together!! Pretty Cruisey!
And the fourth song is cool. However it is full of timing issues (actually they're all full of timing issues!!) and isn't fully mixed or edited. I would fix it up...but I lost the protools session. The bridge in it is also incomplete, and when I re-record it, there will be psychedelic whispers throughout the bridge. I like wierd stuff!
I have pretty much done everything on these tracks myself; the performances and the all of the audio engineering/producing and mixing.
Some of my friends have told me that I should've written this page in third person but honestly I don't care. I just can't help but be myself. If you think it's presented unproffessionally then get over it, I am :) I'll make it more proffessional when I'm a someone!
