"Far from being beginners, Fairguson is comprised of two former members from the Parisian group Kennystar, which has put out three self-produced albums in the last three years. Now, with a new line up, new music, a change from power pop to folk pop and synth, Fairguson has begun their new music endeavor. Fairguson draws from the folk styles of Neil Young, the psychadelic sound of the Beatles, the orchestral pop of the Beach Boys, and the low-fi world of Daniel Johnston. In the bands premier album Tractor Melodies ,which was produced by Thomas, the stylistic influences of The Flaming Lips, Wilco, and Grandaddy are also evident. While holding on to past influences as mentioned above, Fairgusons sound is ever-evolving with the maturity and experience of the band. This album has taken American pop, given it a French touch, and the result is a truly unique and inspiring sound. Filling their Citroën Hearse with dozens of keyboards (abandoned by society), an old guitar, and a drum set, Fairguson makes their journey to their gigs. "Loin d'être un groupe débutant, Fairguson s'est formé autour de deux anciens membres du groupe parisien Kennystar qui a sorti trois albums autoproduits au cours des trois dernières années. Nouveau line up, nouvelle musique, passant dune powerpop à une pop folk à synthés, surfant sur le folk americain de Neil Young, et entre les sonorités psychedeliques des Beatles, la pop orchestrale des Beach Boys et lunivers lo-fi de Daniel Johnston, justifient le nouveau nom. Les références sont rapidement identifiées à lécoute de la première réalisation du groupe, «Tractor Melodies», produit par Thomas «The Tractor Driver», du haut de ses 22 ans. Les disques fondateurs des Flaming lips, Wilco ou encore Grandaddy et bien dautres ont étés digérés par le groupe afin que Fairguson en synthétise un disque de pop américaine en français mignon qui devient au fil des écoutes un disque de pop indispensable dont on peut en plus comprendre les paroles (et cest tant mieux!).
