Sugardaddy is the underground side-project of Tom Findlay, one half of million-selling dance act Groove Armada. This single is the follow up to the 2005 club favourite on Tirk, ‘Love Honey’.

As one half of Groove Armada, Tom Findlay needs no introduction – quite simply, they are one of the most bankable acts in dance music today with a catalogue of chart busting albums and singles. Tom’s Sugardaddy alias, is an outlet for his more club-focused material and first appeared on Tirk with “Love Honey”, a favourtite of house, electro and nu-disco DJs.
This release once again demonstrates Tom’s versatility. Lead track “Pimp In Me” an excursion into some serious house music – sounding like a long lost Sound Factory anthem given a modern twist. On the flip “Stripped To The Bone” is big room electro-disco and “Wack” offers a foray into mid-tempo, dubby, 80s-influenced electronica, - think the Peech Boys meets Jah Wobble and Ryuchi Sakamoto.
24.09.07. TIRK028. 12". MARTIN RUSHENT. ITCHY HIPS
September will see the release of a new 12" on Tirk from legendary producer Martin Rushent. During the late 70s and early 80s Martin worked with some of the biggest names in the post-punk scene - Joy Division, The Buzzcocks, The Stranglers, XTC, Altered Images and Generation X, amongst others. He's perhaps best known, though, for his work on Human League's 'Dare' album and it's companion piece 'Love And Dancing' (by League Unlimited Orchestra) which featured alternate mixes of the tracks from Dare, including the iconic dub of 'Things That Dreams Are Made Of'
'Itchy Hips', the debut release from Martin's new project, Disco Unlimited, sounds like a lost Disco classic with lush strings, smooth brass stabs, sexy vocals and driving Moroder-esque synths. The 12" will also feature a classic Rushent dub-mix of the track aimed squarely at the floor.

Chaz Jankel was Ian Dury’s writing and performing partner in The Blockheads. This sampler 12" accompanies an album charting Chaz’ solo career and includes from the album “You’re My Occupation” - an early 80s boogie style track – and “Call Me” and upbeat disco number.
Also included, exclusive to this 12” is DJD’s Ichiban Re-Edit of “Number One”, which takes elements of the original track and combines them with FX to create a more modern sounding, nu-disco style version.

Our Italian chums Love Supreme are back with the follow up to “Rocquet”, their debut from late last year. Due out at the end of May, the “Elsewhere” EP once again demonstrates their ability to combine a range of sounds from Moroder style disco to Detroit Techno to Krautrock and psychedelia while still retaining the ability to make the kids dance like little monkeys.

To show that we don't want to get caught up in that whole “East-Coast / West-Coast” thing, we’ve followed up our release from San Francisco’s Sorcerer by signing, straight outta New York, Drrtyhaze. These chaps have been responsible for some of the Big Apple’s finest DJ sets since they joined forces a couple of years ago and, prior to that, had a combined total of 30 years DJ experience. Drrtyhaze’s Tirk debut, the ‘Beat To Def’ EP, has the imprint of their hometown all over it – the past 40 years of NYC club culture distilled on a piece of vinyl (or a digital download if you’re into that sort of thing). Look for it at all purveyors of fine music from mid-June.
