NEW RISEN - A short Biography
New Risen is a singer and songwriter native from the Brittany coast of France, land of fairy and eerie tales...
Former model in the 90's, New Risen took part of the french coldwave scene as lead vocal of the bands 'The Library' and 'In Der Tat'. Both bands had local success and recorded songs on various compilations.
In 2001, helped by his synthesizers and his dummy assistant 'Lord Konig' (!), he started writing songs for his solo musical project under the artist name of 'New Risen', a tribute to his favourite 80's band Eyeless in Gaza and also to celebrate his solitary musical rebirth...
New Risen soon created his own musical style out of his influences made of dark romantic lyrics and synthpop-darkwave-gothic sounds.
The same year, he recorded two songs (Fire Devotion and Blood Party) for the 'Microcosmique' compilation produced by the label Decibel.
January 2007, New Risen entered in studio with mrlamort, from the post-rock gothic band Nova et Vetera, to record the songs for his 'Dark Winter' album. The songs were mixed few months later at the Garage Hermétique studio (The Libertines...).
November 2007, came at last 'Dark Winter', a great debut album despite his long musical past...
NEW RISEN - Biographie
Chanteur auteur-compositeur originaire de l'Ouest de la France, région riche en contes et histoires étranges, New Risen commence à chanter dès le lycée avec le premier guitariste du groupe Dolly, puis avec diverses groupes de rock locaux.
Ancien mannequin professionnel dans les années 90, New Risen participera à la scène coldwave en tant que chanteur des groupes 'The Library' et 'In Der Tat' qui enregistrèrent quelques titres sur des compilations.
En 2001, aidé de ses synthétiseurs et de son mannequin 'Lord Konig' (!), il démarre son projet solo sous le nom d'artiste 'New Risen' en hommage au groupe anglais Eyeless in Gaza et qui signifie également 'renaissance'...
Très vite New Risen développe son propre univers musical fait de textes sombres et romantiques sur des ambiances synthpop-gothique et darkwave.
La même année il enregistre les titres 'Fire Devotion' et 'Blood Party' pour la compilation Microcosmique produite par le label Decibel.
Janvier 2007, New Risen entre en studio avec mrlamort du groupe post-rock gothic Nova et Vetera pour enregistrer les titres de son futur album 'Dark Winter', et qui seront mixés quelques mois plus tard au studio Le Garage Hermétique.
Novembre 2007 sort enfin 'Dark Winter', l'excellent premier album de New Risen après une longue carrière dans la musique !
