About Me

My name is Allison, but most people call me Allie. You're allowed to call me by my last name only if you've known me since The Mighty Ducks was in movie theaters. I'm neither a fat little goalie boy nor a muscle-bound wrestler from Oklahoma. Okay? Okay!
So you want to know a little about me, eh? Here's some random info with which to start, and it comes in no particular order: My hometown (Pensacola) was fine for growing up, but it sucks sewer water if you're a single, educated, invested 20-something female who wants more from life than a military or good old boy or (yicky!) conservative husband for whom to make some babies and cook some dinner. After all, there's more to life than Junior League and Krewes. (That sounded way harsher than intended.) Thus, I've just begun searching for jobs with non-profits/other worthwhile endeavors in larger cities. I'd love to end up in a city with culture and character. So, let's see...I like thunderstorms and hate humidity. I love the beach, but deep water scares me. I enjoy long showers, high thread count sheets, color, dresses with nipped waists and full skirts, community theater, children's literature, singing, dancing, and napping with my dog Phoebe. (Huck is a bed hog; I do not enjoy napping with him.) I have small feet, cold hands, freckles on my nose, a proclivity towards grumpiness and dry humor, a top-secret super awesome cheesecake recipe (courtesty of an exboyfriend), a soft spot for animals and kids, and disdain for people who choose to be ignorant. I am a goofy (just ask my neices), challenging, intuitive (some might say psychic...), food-loving, wine-drinking, fashionable (for the most part), occasionally sassy young woman. I believe in celebrating your friends' birthdays as if they were your own, Karma, giving to charity and giving "just because" gifts (though being poor doesn't lend itself to either), not celebrating Valentine's Day but telling people you love that you do love them simply because you should. My dreams include sky diving and flying in a Blue Angel, having a book of some sort published, working in children's entertainment (Walden Films is doing it like it should be done), traveling the world, living abroad, and dying happy.
I'm going to stop rambling now. If you want to know more, stop being a stalker and send me a message.
So true that it's scary:
You Are The Lovers
You represent ideal love: innocence, trust, exhilaration and joy.
You demonstrate the harmony of opposites, two sides coming together.
At times, you also represent the struggle between what is right and what is tempting.
Control is an issue for you, especially when you don't know your reasons for choosing something.
Your fortune:
You have an important choice you need to make about love, and it will be a difficult choice to make.
You are likely struggling between the love you crave and the love that is right.
In the end, you will choose what you crave, even if it's bad for you.
Because without what you crave, you will feel empty and incomplete. What Tarot Card Are You?

You Are 60% Brutally Honest
Honesty is important to you, but generally, you try not to be brutal about it.
You'll sugar coat the truth when you need to... and tell a white lie when necessary. How Brutally Honest Are You?

You Are 40% Left Brained, 60% Right Brained
The left side of your brain controls verbal ability, attention to detail, and reasoning.
Left brained people are good at communication and persuading others.
If you're left brained, you are likely good at math and logic.
Your left brain prefers dogs, reading, and quiet.
The right side of your brain is all about creativity and flexibility.
Daring and intuitive, right brained people see the world in their unique way.
If you're right brained, you likely have a talent for creative writing and art.
Your right brain prefers day dreaming, philosophy, and sports. Are You Right or Left Brained?

Your Dosha is Pitta
You have a quick mind, a gift for persuasion, and a sharp sense of humor.
You have both the drive and people skills to be a very successful leader.
Argumentative and a bit stubborn, you have been known to be a little too set in your ways.
But while you may be biased toward your own point of view, you are always honest, fair, and ethical.
With friends: You are outgoing and open to anyone who might want to talk to you
In love: You are picky but passionate
To achieve more balance: Be less judgmental of those around you, and take cool walks in the moonlight. What's Your Dosha?

My Interests

Truth, happiness, truthiness, remembering the past, animal rescue, cooking, baking, eating, running away to Europe, palindromes, being a "doer," Pirishness, and living my life without chocolate ('cause I'm super allergic to most of it). Oh, and -- almost forgot! -- sex, drugs, and rock n' roll.

I'd like to meet:

My body-thetans.
Hahaha, I am such a shit sometimes.
Seriously, though, if you've seen them anywhere, let me know...
I'm single, but I'm only available if you're the right guy. There has to be a spark, and if there's no spark, there's no point in bothering. I'm one of those people who believes that chemistry is either there or not, and no amount of "getting to know you" is going to create chemistry.
That being said, if you're just interested in being friends, then sweet. I like making new friends... And by that, I don't mean that random people should send me friend requests. I'm not 'bout it. However, if you would like to engage in intelligent conversation, chat away! However, if you write like an imbecile, I will mock you openly.

The Keys to Your Heart
You are attracted to those who are unbridled, untrammeled, and free.

In love, you feel the most alive when your lover is creative and never lets you feel bored.

You'd like to your lover to think you are stylish and alluring.

You would be forced to break up with someone who was insecure and in constant need of reassurance.

Your ideal relationship is lasting. You want a relationship that looks to the future... one you can grow with.

Your risk of cheating is zero. You care about society and morality. You would never break a commitment.

You think of marriage as something precious. You'll treasure marriage and treat it as sacred.

In this moment, you think of love as commitment. Love only works when both people are totally devoted. What Are The Keys To Your Heart?

Music:

Elvis Costello ("Since when were you so generous and inarticulate?"), U2 (only the pre-Bono-thinking-he's-Jesus stuff), Travis, Coldplay, Franz Ferdinand, (brit rock in general), Fiona Apple, Counting Crows, Aimee Mann, Harry Connick Jr ("I've got a great idea. Wouldn't you like to know..."), Eminem, Jason Mraz, James Taylor, No Doubt, 80s, Dr. Dre, Fleetwood Mac, Billy Joel, Matisyahu, Blondie, Sam Cooke, broadway musicals (Ragtime, Evita, Les Mis, etc), David Bowie, John Mayer, Sting, Supremes, a capella, etc. Almost everything, almost.

Movies:

The short list: 40-Year Old Virgin, American Beauty, Sense and Sensibility ("Piracy IS our only option..."), A Clockwork Orange, A History of Violence, Closer, Harry Potter (all of them), The Holiday, Monty Python (everything), Life As A House, Laura, LotR, The Sound of Music. Anything with Jude Law, Natalie Portman, Kate Winslet, or Luke Wilson. Nothing with Tom Cruise, John Travolta, Nic Cage, Woody Allen, or Katie Holmes. (I think they're all crap actors.) Oddly enough, my guiltiest pleasure movie is Dirty Dancing:

You Are Scooter
Brainy and knowledgable, you are the perfect sidekick.
