About Me

Straight - 62 years young, going on 20!Spent most of my working life at sea, as Radio Officer, then office work, tutoring, financial services, Now, recycling in a factory. My Interests

Music - mainly rock and blues...Heavy rock - Led Zep, Rammstein, Apocalyptica, etc General rock - Steppenwolf, Black Sabbath, Deep Purple, Dire Straits, Aerosmith, Wolfmother... Prog rock - Yes, Pink Floyd, early Genesis, Santana, Moody Blues, Mostly Autumn, Porcupine Tree, Frank Zappa, OSI, Dream Theatre, Rush, ELP, Deep Purple and so on Blues rock - ZZ Top, Rory Gallagher, Folk-Rock - Fairport Convention, Circulus, Analog Missionary, Doom/Goth rock - Opeth, System of a Down, Anathema.... Pop rock - Coldplay, Manic Street Preachers, Kate bush, Stereophonics, Howling Bells,Maximo Park, Kasabian, etc - Others: Jethro Tull, Uriah Heep, Blues - Jeff Beck, Eric Clapton, John Mayall, Duster Bennett, JJ Cale, John Lee Hooker, Tea, Vargas Blues Band... Also unusual stuff like Jennifer Terran, Bjork, Joanna Newsom, Super Furry Animals, Gorkys Zygotic Mynci, Zombina & The Skeletones.....Always interested in hearing new up-and-coming/unsigned bands - at the moment Polarian(now VOODOO JOHNSON), Moses Eats Cheese (R.I.P. - Now "JULIA"), Origin (RIP), BAND OF RAIN (See "g" in MyFriends), Check out CARRIE HAYDEN - brilliant singer!OUTSIDE OF MUSIC, Lifelong supporter of LIVERPOOL FOOTBALL CLUB, a big fan of "Real Ale" and I get on well with most young people who are into music (ie not Rap, Jungle, Techno etc!!!) and football... also still have a love of the sea, ships, and of course, women!;o)

I'd like to meet:

A rich, attractive, single girl between 20 and 35!!! - Well, I can dream! Seriously, I'd like to meet quite a few of "MyFriends" that I don't already know, plus Kate Bush, Cyndee Lee Rule, Mark Knopfler, Jimmy Page, Robert Plant, Rick Wakeman, anyone from Pink Floyd, kt tunstall, Rafa Benitez and Stevie Gerrard. See above!I've got about 1000 albums, on CD, Cassette, Vinyl ranging from the 1960s to now. Almost a full set of Beatles, and most Genesis up to Abacab, most Led Zep, most Pink Floyd, almost all Manics/Stereophonics. Contemporary likes are Franz Ferdinand, Kaiser Chiefs, Katie Melua, KT Tunstall, etc. - recently been getting into Squirrel Nut Zippers, The Earlies, Arcade Fire, Godspeed You! Black Emperor, The Future Kings Of England...Plus a fair amount of EPs/Albums by unsigned bands from 1970s - 2000s

Movies:

None really, not a 'movie' fan - I prefer books and music

Sports - mostly football, Mastermind, University Challenge, Weakest Link, Buzzcocks, Have I Got News For You...

Books:

Have almost full sets ofRichard Brautigan Jack Kerouac Tom Robbins Flann O'Brien Kurt Vonnegut Carlos CastanedaA fair amount of reference books on rock music, languages, modern history and cooking (!!)plus some more off-beat stuff and a few horror type ones by Dean Koonz, Stephen King and Clive Barker for light entertainment!And a few folk-legends/mythology editions covering Japan, Greece and Norse material.:o)
