Airplane. It is Spirit which later became Spirit, JoJo Gunne, Jay Ferguson (Solo), etc. Jay works now on film soundtracks in L.A. Randy Played with Hendrix in N.Y.C. but at 16 Randy's mother wouldn't let Jimi Hendrix and Chas Chandler of The Animals fame take her son to Britain to produce a new band. Chas eventually took only Hendrix to England. Randy and his mom later moved out west to California. There Randy hooked up with Step Dad Ed (Cass) Cassidy, a Jazz drummer, Jay Ferguson, vocals, keyboards & more, Mark Andes on Bass, and John Locke, keyboards. Spirit signed with Lou Adler and produced ground breaking recordings. Randy died 10 years ago (1997) saving his son from an undertow while swimming at a beach. They both were caught up a rip current in the surf off a beach in Hawaii. Randy was successful in pushing his young son to safer waters but was unable to save himself. His body was never recovered.
