What is your definition of a producer?
"It’s being able to coach the vocals, know the board and equipment and tell the
engineer what I want. So many people say they’re producers just because
they can make a beat. Don’t call yourself a producer if you’re not one.
A music producer knows which note is flat or sharp, what to sustain,
what should be staccato or legato, how to record and mix a record.
A real producer can be left alone in the studio with the equipment
and come out with a hit record."
