Formed out of Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA in the fall of 2005, Lucius has been captivating fans from all around and continue to overwhelm audiences and build their fan base. With a wide variety of influences, undeniable talent, and a vastly creative style that blends rock, soul, jazz, alternative and electronic together to form a completely unique and original sound, Lucius is making quite a name for themselves.Lead singers Jess Wolfe and Holly Laessig began writing together after musical sparks flew while they were working on a rearrangement of the classic Beatle's song Happiness is a Warm Gun. The result not only caught the attention of faculty and students, but also drew attention from the most prestigious musicians at Berklee. This sparked a deeper interest in the two vocalists to pursue writing original music together. The product of their writing, combined with the potential opportunity to play with innovative and incredible musicians, motivated Holly and Jess to form Lucius. After recording their first EP in July of 2006, Lucius began taking the northeast by storm, performing to ecstatic crowds in Boston, New York City, and the surrounding areas. After receiving unprecedented recognition for their creative and unique blend of sounds, entrancing stage performance, and originality, Lucius has been hard at work writing for their October 2007 full length album debut. While the band prepares to head into the studio this summer to record, you can catch Lucius in various markets throughout the US showcasing their music to critical acclaim.
