Beware of Dark Smelly Holes

About Me

"Well... I've never really known all that much about music... The majority of what little knowledge I've gathered over the years is that of a strong devotion to ethnic strippers and whores. To tell you the truth it all started about 500 years ago over in the very isolated country Tibet. I just happened to stumble across an old Dutch man named Hieronymus Bosch, who was generous enough to open my eyes and mind up to his peculiar garden of delights. That and some great opium... Several persistant years of a hazy nothingness continued to follow... The next thing that I can recall is floating around in a small, dark, and uncomfortable saclike object fighting to survive, but not understanding what surviving or anything meant. Anything, except random fragmented memories of women selling sex, which I later discovered were a mixture of premonitions of the 21st century female MTV pop icons, and memories from past life experiences." As for the real truth, in 1983 Westfield, NY gave birth to a young man named Ryan Jackson (Dr Jackson) who took his first glimpse and breath of what later seemed to be an immaculate world headed for catastrophe. Guitar was introduced into his life at a very early age of 2 by his uncle, who continued to influence his musical taste for years to come. Around the age of 6 Ryan's parents had him start taking piano lessons, which created the basic musical foundation of his never ending quest of becoming a "real musician." “Hopefully by the time I'm 90, and stuck in a wheel-chair drinking food through a straw I'll be somewhat close. Until then I'll make a lot of noise and look as if I'm doing something.” said Ryan. Ryan was very fond of the piano, but as guitar kept being reintroduced into his life he realized that it was the instrument in which his true inspiration lay. It was at that time that he started a new journey into music. One that involved playing and creating music with other people. Teaming up with guitarist Scott Schuster, drummer Greg Fuller, keyboardist James Lloret, bassist Christopher Walther, and several other musicians. The band, which was eventually called Intuit, came to be. Between the experience of playing in the band, guidance from his extraordinary high school music and guitar teachers, and the use of the vast amounts of knowledge that the internet has to offer, Ryan discovered music was what he was supposed to pursue as a career. That and saving the world from the war man has waged against it. Ryan stated, "I wish I could just lie and say that all of the emotions, knowledge, and idea's I've received dealing with music suddenly came to me one day while I was taking in some of natures natural fruits and herbs, but if I did that, then I would be lying." After realizing, experiencing, and embracing a form of musical meditation known as "the zone" music became all that much more intoxicating to Ryan. Through several experimental jam sessions with people such as Scott Schuster, Greg Fuller, Jack Thayer, Kevin MacDonald, and several others, the concept of music taking one on a journey of the moment became very "far out" to Ryan. After being part of the band "Midnight Traffic" and playing an extensive amount of gigs around the NY and PA area for a couple years Ryan decided to move to Boston to experience the perks Berklee and the local music scene have to offer. Once he learned that people in the city are so much more self absorbed and egotistical than any where else he'd ever experienced he decided to become one with the universe and make music whenever possible.
