Formed in 1994 by 2 friends Alexis B. and Cédric M. to play music like Metallica, Megadeth and Iron Maiden. Total Agony was Born.
In 1996, they were joined by the drummer Ludovic R., they played their first show in june 1996.
1998, Ludovic quit the bands. Alexis and Cédric decided to composed Drums part with a drum machine.
Their style was between bands such as Slayer, Fear Factory, Sepultura and Obituary. They composed new songs to appear on their first demo intitled "Vengeance" released in 1999. Some shows near Paris were planned.
The bands evolve to a Thrash metal more brutal and call their music "Brutal Thrash" influenced by Bolt Thrower, Slayer and old Sepultura. In 2001, they released their second demo "From death...to wars".
More brutal and technical than "Vengeance", the band performed some shows in Paris' suburban.
In constant evolution, Total Agony released a third demo in 2002 called "Annihilhate". Heavier, a little slower (with mid-tempo) and more technical than "From Death...to wars". The influence sounds like Bolt Thrower, Obituary and Cannibal corpse.
The new album "Erased" was released in november 2004. Back to brutality and fast-tempo songs, Total Agony have launched the french Brutal Thrash Revolution. These songs are between Bolt Thrower, cannibal corpse and old school black metal like Bathory.
Total Agony are actually working on new songs different than "Erased" with more melodic and heavy parts. Still influenced by Bolt Thrower and some black metal bands, they wants to develop some melodies like Paradise Lost and others influences to renew their Brutal Thrash...
We participated to a tribute to Sepultura names "From roots to the seed - A tribute to Sepultura" for Chabane's Records, with a cover of "Beneath the remains".
