I am Carl . I wear aviators. Often. I play the guitar in a band called The Slackharmonic . I sing, too. How well, is a matter of opinion. I'm into DIY music production, recording, mixing, engineering, etc.
The official Slackharmonic website
You can find a complete, previously unreleased copy of "Graveyard of the Atlantic" (late '01, early '02) here . The "lil album that never was" for what was then a fledgling recording project, The Slackharmonic. Rough mixes--final edits were never produced--though I don't think it sounds too far off where it would have been, FOLLOWING tweaking. Heisman probably sports the hottest levels, as some premastering was done on it's overall output level. Recorded at Slap Studios (230 North 2nd Street).

My Interests

guitar, singing, songwriting, driving, road-tripping, dive bars, live shows, recording. Sarcasm, Wit, Ingenuity, piercings , poetry, drama, (like " plays ", not like "issues"), Scrabble, logic puzzles, movies, music, Christopher Walken, gardening (my gardens are READY to be PLANTED!!!). Does "sleep" count as an interest?--if so I'm an OLYMPIAN. I'm a huge Philadelphia Eagles fan--love watching football.

I'd like to meet:

just about anyone, if you're artistic and wanna share interesting conversation, cocktails, and maybe a few thoughts o'er some rock and roll and/or movie action. Bring it. It's the summer. Move nights start SOON! Projection style. In my backyard. You'll love it. Or you won't be there. If you're THERE you'll love it. It'll be fun. Deal with that.OH--and anyone who wants to check out THIS!

Music:

Guided By Voices, Archers of Loaf, Superchunk, FUGAZI, Pavement, Sonic Youth, Smashing Pumpkins (up through 1996), New Pornographers, Sleater-Kinney, The Shins, Shellac, MMJ-and a WHOLE lot more, but you get WAY too many random band requests to listen to "such and such" a song, that sounds like "insert band on my list" here. But more importantly:
Check out Philly Local Music

Turn the radio off , turn the radio down, whatcha hear with your ear to the underground, too cool to take a listen--PIGEON-HOLIN'S how YOU fit in with the CROWD!!!"

Movies:

Shaun of the Dead, Old School, Office Space, the Big Lebowski, Pulp Fiction, Things to Do in Denver When You're Dead, The Prophecy, Reservoir Dogs, A Christmas Story, Hackers, Spinal Tap, Fear and Loathing..., Suicide Kings, Lord of the Rings, Clerks, Mallrats, most b-horror flicks (stuff like "Bloodsucking Pharohs in Pittsburgh"), Kill Bill Vol. 1, and tons more. I love movies...I'll probably watch one if you bring it by--I plan on SHOWING movies in the backyard this summer

Television:

KILL YOUR TELEVSION I do not have television in my house, regardless that we have at least three TV's. I like movies, what can I say? I don't like being advertised at anymore--and the truth is, I have ENOUGH distractions as it is.

Books:

I like books. I read them, too. I sorta majored in books. Sorta.
Ahh...and some day, I plan on getting back to WRITING books (won't THAT be nice?)Gaze into the Magic Eight Ball

Heroes:

I dig spiderman...and batman. If you're REALLY observant, you might catch me running around late at night in my car (in the spidey costume).
