AKA Neil Vogler, a 30-yr-old singer/ songwriter/ guitarist/ melody slave, Switch Flicker has been evolving steadily over the last couple of years, gathering momentum as new collaborators have come forward. A vet of almost 500 live gigs, Neil is a firm believer in taking the DIY work ethic as far as you can, and is an artist who thrives on two things: independence, and collaboration with the right people. The past two and a half years have seen him working in conjunction with underground producer Kristian Sharpe to produce a debut record that brims with eclectic, vital energy, and in late last year Neil joined forces with the mighty maverick music teacher that is Stephen Connolly (TM) and the beat-addicted, superior rhythm delivery agent that is Becky Tomas to create that rarest of things: a live band that can really PLAY. No bullshit, no trickery, just musicianship. Switch Flicker is bent on delivering fat, thoughtful, ridiculously catchy and idiosyncratic tunes to the ears of the discerning.
CHARLATANS & HYPNOTISTS is the name of the debut album, and it's out now on Switch Flicker's own small label, INFLUENCE MACHINE RECORDS...Sample album cuts can be heard on this page, and fresh stuff will be posted as often as poss. Live addicts, expect the band to explode onstage in Summer '08...and don't say you weren't told. Meanwhile, catch acoustic shows in and around Plymouth and the South West - watch this page for info. Get on board -- it's all happening...
What people are saying about CHARLATANS & HYPNOTISTS:

"...absolutely an album with no designs on satisfying anyone but themselves and in today's day and age of recording, that's a rare quality." -- musicemissions.com
"Lavish...the album incorporates everything from blues and funk to rock and jazz, often imbued with an electronica 80s undercurrent" -- Clare Robinson, The Herald (Plymouth)
