ChiiDo (real name Chinedum Nnochiri) is a UK based Nigerian hiphop artist currently making waves in the afrohiphop community. His pidgin english infused rap style loaded with satirical lyrics has endeared him to Djs on UK, Nigerian and African broadcast outlets. Rising from modest profile over two years ago, ChiiDo's audio and video tracks now enjoys significant rotation on MTV Base Africa, OBE TV (UK), Passion TV (UK), MiTV (Nigeria), Channel O (South Africa), Galaxy (Nigeria), and various other TV and radio outlets.
As an attestation to how music lover all over the continent are endeared to his style of rap, ChiiDo's video is now number one on Africa's MTV Base top ten video. His debut Album " Afro Knowledge...from Naija to London" is out on worldwide release through major online music outlets, this includes iTunes and AOL on the 18th of December 2006 and is set to draw positive feedback from music enthusiast and critics alike.
Since dawn of the new millennium ChiiDo has been busy crafting his own style of musical expression. Encompassing elements of both hip-hop and afrobeat, 'hiplife' is an exciting new genre and one with which ChiiDo is poised to make a splash. Hailing from Lagos, Nigeria. Chi's musical ambitions first began to take shape at an early age. Around the house, Chi's father would spin vinyl's of Nigerian legend Fela Kuti. Moments like these would serve to shape Chi's vision of one day making great music himself. After some initial recordings with like minded people, Chi decided to embark on a stylistic change, one which would lead him to his current incarnation. His music is at once both humorous and pensive which is reflective of his nature. He speaks on issues ranging from the trials of relationships to the problems that exist in his surroundings all through his native language, Pidgin. ChiiDo seeks to elevate his status at the same time contribute in bringing 'hiplife' to the forefront.
