About Me

Renegade Android is aka Shawn Shackelford. Born in 1977, he's been experimenting with computer audio since the mid-90's. His earlier work (all free to download) can best be described as a more comical take on breakcore, fusing highly flanged, minimal pop melodies with severely chopped, distorted breakbeats. He released his first two albums ( Self-Titled 2nd Edition & The Sprawl ) with net-label D-Trash Records in 1999 & 2003.

In 2000, he started working on two side projects, unseelie and Digita`lis/Phlox .

In 2006, he co-founded GOZombie Records with his fiancee and fellow label artist Pear Eyes , released Renegade Android, "This is my Manager" , and an album from his unseelie alter-ego titled "Polly Lop" .

In mid-2007, Renegade Android released, "The Brilliant Opus Of Nothing" . This album is very different from his earlier works, more focused on glitch and idm.

RENEGADE ANDROiD - "Self-Titled 2nd Edition" (1999, 2007 - MP3 D/L):  "The style of his single DTRASH release isn't easy to sum up but we would probably call it 'FX-driven post-Warp hardcore for ...
