Well, i don't really know where to start with this and it's always weird to write something about you that truly defines who you are. So i'll be simplistic and talk about my passions in life. I am fascinated by the human brain. Yes the brain! It is the organ in the body that i believe truly shows us how magnificent God is. This one organ controls every single movement in your body, from a simple blink to recollection of memories and stored information. This fascination with the brain and all things medical, inspired me at the tender age of 2 to want to become a physician. So here i am today, a senior in college, majoring in Biology/pre medicine, with minors in chemistry and ethnic studies, hoping to one day work as a tool for God and become a neurosurgeon.
I believe that there is greatness in every one of us, all we have to do is reach in and let the best in us shine for the whole world to see. We have to dig within us to pull out that which differentiates us from others: a light given to each of us by God and only when we let that light shine, are we able to truly see the good in us and in others. My all time favorite quote is by Nelson Mandela and he used it during his first inaugral speech, and it never ceases to inspire me, no matter how many times I read it:"Our biggest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our biggest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented and fabulous? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so other people won't be insecure around you. We were born to make maginificent the glory of God that is within us. It's not just in some of us, it is in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciouly give others permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fears, our presence automatically liberates others."
