How I made my profile:
I used Dave & Jay's amazing myspace editor . When Lukas and Moritz started making music together when at school in the early 90s, TYLER was just a mere glint in the milkman's eye!
Although both went their separate ways after school, Moritz to university and Lukas into the pop-production world, they continued to collaborate, refining their individual style and songwriting skills. It was in 2002 that they decided to reinvent their school band with new members and a new name, giving themselves a platform to showcase their newest and best material from the intervening years.
Lukas got to know Peter Schoenbauer and Markus Adamer whilst playing for different groups in and around Vienna. On hearing Lukas and Moritz's material they both agreed that the writing was top quality and so joined the band - TYLER was born!In 2003, after only a few rehearsals, TYLER played several gigs in some of Austria's top venues. They have now recorded their first album, produced by Lukas, which is due for release in Spring 2005.
Shortly after the final recordings for "don't play", Markus Adamer left the band due to musical differences, so the band started auditioning for a new drummer.Lukas: "Our search ended fairly quickly after a rehearsal with Alex Pohn who turned out to be the missing puzzle piece for the band."
"We connect very well musically and we quickly became really good friends" Although a long time coming TYLER signed a record deal in December 2003 with derfreieRaumfrmusik, a young, independent label. The first single from the album "What's wrong" was released in October 2004. April 2005 saw the release of the second single "Hello"."We want to knock your socks off, in a musical sense anyway".
This mission statement probably also comes from the inspirational source for their name: the film "Fight Club". So, is the band somehow a self help group for its members, an opportunity to let go and put to sleep the restless, schizophrenic areas of the psyche?
According to songwriter Lukas: "It has to be a song, which sounds weird in a way". There seems to be a small TYLER Durden inside of him. "My head is full of melodies, that scream to be free. I see the songs as my babies and I would do anything for them!" Aggression is of lesser importance here, rather the mutual belief of the four Viennese musicians. They feel it, they want it, thats why they do it - and you should be there when they DO do it...
