About Me

A few things about me:
1. I work in an adult store where I'm an educator and event planner. If you have a problem with my job you should probably leave my page now...
2. I am, for various personal reasons, mildly obsessed with the Vampire Chronicles by Anne Rice- if you can intelligently discuss those characters you can probably get my attention.
3. I was the president of the Alternative Lifestyle Association at Washington University and I consider the things that group achieved during my presidency (and which I'm sure will expand under the capable leadership of the new president) to be some of my greatest acomplishments.
4. I believe that laws prohibiting people of the same sex from marrying are no better than old laws which prevented people of different races from marrying.
5. I'm not opposed to polygamy and polyamory. This is a seperate number because it is not related to gay marriage, they are two seperate issues, it is not a slippery slope, stop associating the two.
6. I'm a Juggalette- it's about more than just the music, it's a way of life.
7. I started going to the theatre last year for the first time in I don't know how long and now I go every chance I get and I've seen some of the most amazing shows and met some of the most amazing people in the last year and I feel better for it.
8. I might be just a little ittsy bit insecure and emotionally unstable sometimes... it's just all part of the package, sorry.
9. I tend to either really like or really dislike music and I can usually tell right off the bat. For me it's all about the lyrics (but good music helps, too).
10. There was a time when I trusted very easily... but that doesn't really happen very much anymore which I think is kind of sad :(...
11. It's now 6am and I've been watching Fox News for like two hours and it's just made me really angry for the most part... ugh.
12. My dream is to open a high school and I believe that to be able to run a school you must be able to run a classroom. I majored in history and educational studies and always assumed I would teach history right out of college but that's sort of been put on hold but I am really enjoying the job I have right now so maybe it's all for the best...

My Interests

How many years have you taken a language?
1 year of French when I was little, 4 years of Spanish in middle and high school, 2 years of American Sign Language in high school and college- I want to pursue an interpreters license in ASL but that’s many years in the future

Who's on your speed dial?
2: Ashley, 3: Armand, 4:Cathy , 5: Gene, 6: Mrs.Hanish , 7: Juggalo Adam , 8: Sarah Wood, 9: Mysti
Irony: I can’t remember the last time I called any of these people… well, I call Ash but she doesn’t always answer (damn her and her always working), I talk to Armand on line all the time… I guess I called Cathy while I was in Iowa, oh! And I called Gene on accident at like 4am on my way to NY a few weeks ago, sorry about that! I really should call Mrs. Hanish but she’d probably just hate my new job as much as my blood relatives do… Adam…. What to do about Adam? I can’t be the only one to call… you have to make an effort, too. Sarah… I don’t know how to deal with the drama that you’re going through right now, sorry. Mysti… you walked out on me when I needed you and I’m still kind of upset about it, to be perfectly honest.

Would you do anything for someone else?
There was a time that was true, right now I don’t feel like doing anything for anyone.

Are your grades good?
They were decent- there’s more to life than grades.

Do you read trashy romance novels often?
only when they’re written by Anne Rice

Do you sing obnoxiously in the car?
yes, yes I do… A few weeks ago I stopped at a light and I was singing along to “Donna” and I didn’t realize that another car, with their windows down no less, had pulled up beside me and I whipped my head around and saw them sitting there staring at me…. haha

Do you ever sing obnoxiously in the shower?
let’s just say I feel bad for the neighbor’s to my right and above me… I’m not trying to sign obnoxiously… I just can’t carry a tune… (I really do feel bad about butchering the songs... especially sense my prefered shower-genre is musicals...)

What's in your CD player right now?
I’m alternating between two new CDs: “This Delicate Thing We’ve Made” by Darren Hayes and “I.V.” by International Victim… they’re just *slightly* different, heh

Do you have a "claim to fame"?
Uummm... Oh! Drew Sarich (of International Victim) used a contact table that I made on the International Victim MySpace page ; seeing that was one of the happiest/coolest moments of my life.

Have you ever been to South America or Africa?
South America: Peru, Ecuador and probably some other small countries that I didn’t realize we were in throughout the trip. Also the Galapagos Islands- is that considered part of South America? I should know that…

Do you know how to knit?
I know how to crochet… does that count?

Fly or road trip?
with my father: Fly, with anyone that I like: road trip

What's your favorite Disney movie?
Beauty and the Beast, Alladin, Hunchback, Anastasia

How many times have you switched school districts including preschool?
1 preschool, 1 kindergarten, for elementary I went to school for a while and then was homeschooled, I was homeschooled for part of middle school and then I went to one school for 7th and another for 8th… I went to one high school for 9th and 10th and although I was technically in the same “school” for 11th and 12th it was two different campuses… though ironically the first campus was the same campus that had been an elementary school when I was in school for my elementary years… except when I went there for elementary school it was actually a half decent school.

Was your school's band any good?
I don’t know if my college had a band… but I was the first chair saxophone in high school because it was a middle school/high school band… and I was the only high schooler… yeah, prestigious, I know.

Do you ever push your pillow off the bed?
Yes but I have 5 more on the bed so I’m usually all set.

Have you ever played a team sport?
Soccer and Softball, I was pretty good at both back in the day…

Parents separated/divorced/married?
Seperated and then one died and then the other got remarried and then divorced and probably soon to be remarried again (he’s a collector)

How many states have you visited?
While I was homeschooled we traveled a lot but I can only really remember anything about 10 of them…

Do you prefer shoes, socks, or bare feet?
Bare feet

Favorite ice cream?
Americone Dream

What is your favorite dessert?
Chocolate cake with ice cream

Do you eat out or at home more often?
Out… usually I don’t eat all day and then just eat at work because they pay for my lunch/dinner depending on the shift.

Do you prefer an ocean or a pool?
Pool.

Do you wear any jewelry 24/7?
One ring that my mother gave me… it comes in handy at work when I tell people I’m married… not that that stops them.

Do you speak any other language?
I know enough sign language to say “can I help you?” and “I learned ASL 3 years ago and I’ve forgotten almost all of it” and tell people how much their total is.. I can also finger spell pretty good… finger reading is another matter. Oh, and I can sign the entire Darren Hayes song "Creepin' Up On You"... it's even creepier in sign than it is when it's sung... seriously- ever seen the sign for "creeping up" or "watching you"? haha.

List five things you want to do in your lifetime:
Foster children
Improve knowledge and understanding about sexual health and sexuality
Travel Europe

queen

Do you have a laptop or desktop computer?
both, I use them equally for different things

How many pillows do you sleep with?
at least 2, preferably 7

Do you know anyone with the same birthday as you?
no but Allison Fischer’s birthday is like 2 days away from mine.

Do you sleep with your closet doors open or closed?
open, my bedroom doesn’t have a light so at night I just use the closet light to see.

Can you change the oil on a car?
If I put my mind to it… the bottle of oil usual has instructions, doesn’t it?

Have you ever gotten a speeding ticket?
eerr…. yes

Have you ever run out of gas?
yes, damn suburban

What was the last book you read?
I’m currently reading Belinda… I don’t remember the last book I finished, something for school I’m sure.

The only soap opera I watched was Guiding Light and only while Allison Fischer was on it.

”Erin a customer wanted to know if we could order playing cards with threesomes and foursomes on them” (it was actually a little more explicit than that but that was the gist of it)

Yes, despite what my family has to say, I consider myself very successful.

Have you ever asked for a horse?
Yes, and I got it :P

Have you ever been suspended or expelled from school?
I was asked not to attend my high school graduation… which I thought was kind of funny because if they had looked up the orders for caps and gowns they’d see I hadn’t ordered one because I wasn’t going to attend it anyway. When I think of all the things I did for that place... how corrupt they are makes me ill... schools aren't supposed to ruin lives and I'm glad I went to a decent high school first, somewhere that taught me that I had value and that my input was valuable instead of a place that was perpetually dismissing its students... it wasn't a place of education... it was a place of "re-education" if you know what I mean...

If you could be stranded with one person for 24 hours, who would it be?
Ashley… I miss you :(

Do you get along with your family?
Not at all. Half of them don’t know what I do for a living and the other half disapprove, they can bite me.

What are your goals in life?
To improve knowledge and understanding about sex, sexuality, sexual health, gender identity and gender expression… the usual.

If you could go back in time and change something, what would you change?
…I recently heard the concept of origami described something along the lines of: although some of our experiences my be painful they are like the creases in the paper that gradually shape us and ultimately they make us what we are… and I'm really happy with who I am.

I'd like to meet:
