About Me

Krista Herring is a fire dancer. Okay, not literally, though that would be unsurprising in the city of Portland, where this former gypsy child currently makes her home. The fire that this up and coming singer/songwriter/guitar player dances with is the fire of the heart, burning with a passion revealed in the simple, yet deeply touching honesty of her lyrics and the powerful resonance of her vocals. This fire comes from a vision of healing, of unification of opposites, and of a belief in the innate goodness of the human spirit to overcome its own darkness and step into the Love that is its true form. Her songs reveal this longing of the human spirit for freedom, for authenticity, for Love. ............................................................ .................................................... “With an evocative grace, affecting presence, and raw acoustic sound reminiscent of the late Eva Cassidy, vocals to match both the pitch and dulcet resonance of Jewel, and a captivating elegance, and magnetism all her own; this young song bird will undoubtedly be a tall glass of water to an otherwise barren, and hackneyed music-industry wasteland." -Adrienne Oxton for NW Noise ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~"...such depth that i haven't heard for quite some time... think Patty Griffin's song writing with the voice of Sarah Mclachlan and you are half way there." -Maverick Magazine, UK ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~"As renowned poet, and author Kahlil Gibran once stated, “A great singer is he who sings our silences.” Once having a listen for yourself, I’m confident you will agree that this gifted young woman will be doing just that for years to come.” -Northwest Noise This layout was handmade with love by the folks at My space or yours?
