JOYCE AND TED'S FRIDAY NIGHT!!!

About Me

My musical life has been anything but typical. My interest and enthusiasm for music began probably like most others did. I grew up in a musical family. My Mamma taught me to play guitar when I was eight and I’ve been infected with her passion for sound ever since.Music at the Kirl farm was an everyday occurrence. The Kirl jam sessions are legendary where I come from. In and around my hometown my uncle Dale is sort of a country music hero. But, life has a way of throwing turns in the road just when you’re about to set the cruise control. For me it was when I left home. At a time when most people who discover that they have some music in them start chasing the dream I ran off to begin life in a more common way. I met a girl, joined the Air Force, and began to live like most people do. It wasn't until years later that I finally gave in to the sounds that kept pushing on me from inside. I separated from Uncle Sam’s service in October of 2004 and moved back home disillusioned and frustrated with military life. I contemplated many options but music has a way of creeping into your soul and hiding there and the music that was hiding in me, the music that drove me back to my roots, was starting to push its way back into my life. I decided it was time to turn repression into expression, to make a go at an old dream. So I began playing any chance I could get and here I am. So now I’m venting. I’m letting out my frustrations and worries onto paper and into the air. I am expressing my hopes and dreams to anyone who cares to listen. I love sharing the gift of music. To me it is the ultimate form of expressing an emotion. I have a lot I feel like expressing. I’m not going to get to it all right away but it’s in there and I’m not afraid. Randy Travis said in a song once "it took a while to get here, but I'm right on time”. I like that. I doesn't matter how you get there or where your coming from. What matters is that your there. Randy knew what he was talking about.
