About Me

I'm the second of three children, all girls, born to parents who are still together.

I graduated from Architecture School three years ago.

I graduated from High School eight years ago (geez, thats strange to say out loud).

I moved to San Francisco because I wanted to get out of Tennessee. I had no job and $250 to my name. I worked as a Barista, then a Slide Librarian, then Marketing Assistant, and later Marketing Director from August 2003 until September 2005.

I moved back to Nashville in September 2005 to work for a design think tank that works to elevate the quality of Nashville’s built environment and to promote public participation in the creation of a more beautiful and functional city for all.

I'm afraid of heights.

I like to go see live music, doodle, paint, drink good coffee, and a bunch of other stuff that should be listed in that general section to the left.

My Interests

architecture, urban design, graphic design, music (playing and listening), sewing, crochet, general craftiness. I'm still looking for a good guitar teacher; I've found someone to teach me to play bass.

I'd like to meet:

People who love life and don't take themselves too seriously, and of course

Ira Glass, host of This American Life

Music:

I have crossed over to the dark side and have an iPod. I have all my music, some books, and my favorite radio show in my hot little hands 24/7.

Did I mention that I'm in love with Ira Glass?

Movies:

I worked at a movie theater longer than I've worked any other job I've held, so this is a complicated matter for me. It takes a lot for me to watch a movie more than once in a year, so the ones I can think of that fit in this category: Shopgirl, High Fidelity, Little Women (the one from 1933 with Katharine Hepburn) Rebecca, Sliding Doors, and I'm positive I'm forgetting about 30 others.

Television:

I am obsessed with Grey's Anatomy.

I'll watch almost any home improvement/design show.

Books:

Currently reading: Neo-Bohemia: Art and Commerce in the Postindustrial City. I listen to my books more than I actually read (The Lovely Bones, Don't Know Much About the Bible).

I haven't got very far in any of them-- too much time on MySpace perhaps?

Heroes:

My grandmother, Lillian. It takes a strong woman to tend a farm/house, raise 13 kids, and who knows how many grandkids. There's a reason we call
