free Lyrics I feel very lucky to be me. I have had an awesome journey and made some amazing friends along the way. I constantly search for balance in all areas of my life, but I am a walking 'party'. Not that I get sloppy drunk and take off my clothes 'party' (although it HAS happened a few times :) but I always, in all-ways like to have fun and, to also make sure those around me are having fun. I like attention and flirting, but not at the expense of my integrity or others around me.....it really is just who I am. I'm extremely spiritual - not religious - because, for me personally, no ONE organized religion has ever spoken complete and consistent truth to me - no one has the copyright on who God is - he/she IS different to us all. I personally take comfort in that truth. I have my beliefs but they are sacred to me and so I only share them with those open-minded enough to listen - in turn, I try to always keep my mind open to others opinions.....I have learned much......and still have much to learn. I just want to live this life to the fullest, one day at a time - thankful for all the blessings that come my way. I am a Scorpio, and a TRUE Scorpio at that!! Go read about November 4th personalities and it will read Marie :)

My Interests

Click Here to put this video in your profile!Get Green Power!I love the outdoors - rock climbing, hiking, water skiing, wake-boarding, and 4-wheeling, and on several occasions I've been accused of being a hippie (considered a compliment in my book :) I've discovered a new passion for wine and, these days, I revel in enjoying a good pinot noir out with friends, and at home too! (got some amazing Reidel crystal Pinot Noir glasses from my amazing friend L-ovely for Christmas :) Anyways, I'm a singer/dancer/model so I love to entertain and BE entertained. I really enjoy supporting all the local talent here in nashville so you can bet you'll find me at 12th and Porter, 3rd and Lindsley, or Exit/In as my hectic schedule permits. Nashville is such a great place to go and listen to music....if you look hard enough you can find something for everyone. I have an amazing dog name Frasier who simply ROCKS!! Anyone who knows this dog, wants to clone or buy him from me. Yes, he is THAT cool! I take him to the park as much as possible and he loves to ride around in the car with me :)

I'd like to meet:

I'd like to meet other musicians, and people of like-mindedness......I love intense conversation, as long as you are open-minded. I'm pretty good at reading someone the first time I meet them, so I don't waste my time. But if you read my information and I sound like someone you might want to get to know more....let me know!! PLEASE, no obsessive-compulsives, egotisticals, or meat heads!!

Music:

I was raised listening to country and western most of my young life. So, I have a profound respect for old country music: George Jones, The Judds, Emmy Lou Harris, Loretta Lynn, Dwight Yokam... I have to thank my older brothers and my best friend from college for introducing me to other styles of music at a time when I needed to expand my creative mind. I began listening to the Beatles, Pink Floyd, U2, The Police/Sting, and then came Sheryl Crow, Ani DeFranco, Sade, Dave Matthews and Peter Gabriel. Now, I have different music for all the different facets of my personality and mood. Some of my current musical obsessions include Jessi Alexander (my best friend from college - amazing voice!), Ben Harper, Beck, Amos Lee, Jem, Norah Jones, Jack Johnson, Coldplay, Jason Mraz, Jeff Buckley, Maroon 5, Allison Krauss, Sarah McLachlan, David Gray, Citizen Cope and some occasional Brad Paisley. I also love local talents B. Young, Sharif Iman, The Everafters and Ligion. I guess my preference of style is that I have NO preference of style. Although, it's kinda hard for me to get into really heavy/hard metal rock, I can respect it as music, but I don't prefer it.

Movies:

I LOVE LORD OF THE RINGS. Hands down, the best movie ever!!! I've heard people say that they can't really get into it because its too fantastical, and they can't get into Sci-Fi.......that's a crock of shit if you ask me! There is so much symbolism, and the depth and consistency of all the characters is timeless. This movie inspired me and still does everytime I watch it. Other movies I like include anything Johnny Depp is in: Pirates of the Carribean, Finding Neverland, Edward Scissorhands and Charlie and The Chocolate Factory....Million Dollar Baby, Kinsey(I can't remember how to spell it, but it was the movie about one of first psychologists to tackle the misconceptions and myths surrounding sex/masturbation).....What The @..$.. (Bleep) Do We Know?, Tombstone, City of God, Dead Poets Society, Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, Yellow Submarine, The Notebook, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, V for Vendetta, Big Fish, Finding Nemo, and Shrek. I'm a big fan of 'guy movies' too - Star Wars, Batman (some of them), Superman, and Spiderman.....classics :)

Television:

I am a Law and Order whore (especially SVU)!! I don't watch much T.V. but when I do it's stuff like Lost, 6 Feet Under, CSI, and currently Greys Anatomy.

Books:

I love the book Conversations With God. It changed my life. I also liked Tuesdays with Morrie, Ishmael, Angels and Demons, the comic book series - Elf Qwest (thanks Matt ;-), Enders Game (Orson Scott Wells) Embraced by the Light.......there is an amazing book called Many Lives, Only Love is Real and Many Masters by Brian Weiss that tells a true story about a psychologist who accidentally discovers past life regression through phobia therapy. Cool Stuff! I like msyticism and wierd books that make you go hmmm?

Heroes:

There are two amazing women in my life. One never finished college, but went on to eventually make more than her husband (a college professor) not because it meant that much to her, but only so she could provide for her 4 children. She lost one of these children, her son, in a car accident. She stayed strong and kept her family together and through this tragedy she went on to help heal other families. See, she made the crucial decision to donate her sons organs, saving 5 lives. 2 of these people contacted her and have since become part of her family. She also went on to donate one of her own kidneys to a man in her church who is still alive because of her gift. She was a perfect match. This woman just happens to be my mom. If I can grow to behalf the woman she is, I'll be proud. The other woman is my best friend from college, Jessi Alexander. I use that term 'best friend' very seriously - she taught me what that really means. We will grow old and still be best friends. There is absolutely nothing either of us can do, or would do, to ruin the love we have for each other. It's amazing, SHE is amazing. She is also the most talented artist out there....go check her out on CMT.com or Rolling Stone Mag. review.....gorgeous girl, gorgeous voice.
