Private Lesson Bio:
I graduated from the Atlanta Institute of Music in the fall of 2001. I have been in many acts in a variety of styles, from various forms of Jazz, to Blues, to Rock / Pop, to "jam-band" style improv Rock, to Acoustic-Electronica, to experimental "yet-to-be-defined" genres, etc. I have done session work for a range of artists, including a few Grammy-award winners. I have played at venues of various sizes all over, from here to London. I have 10+ years private teaching experience and have taught for a number of stores and institutions in the metro Atlanta area and elsewhere, including Music Matters (Roswell, GA), The Watermelon Tree Center for Fine Arts (Alpharetta, GA), Sadler Music (Kennesaw, GA), The Atlanta Music Scene (Duluth, GA), and Rob Payne's Music (Knoxville, TN). I have written four "compositional electronic" albums and have sold them (via victorelkins.com, which is in the process of a redesign / host switch) to people throughout the United States and in Japan. I'm currently preparing to front a new acoustic pop / rock act here in Nashville. If interested in lessons for drum set (any genre), classical snare (including marching snare), guitar (Rock, Blues, basic Jazz, charts), music theory (beginner - intermediate), or any combination, please email [email protected]. My rates are competitive and I provide lessons in-home.
