I am here for Friends and Networking

About Me

I produce and license music for film/tv/newmedia. I also represent some of Canada's top film/tv composers.
I got my start when I was 17 as an apprentice recording engineer at a Toronto project studio. I was subsidized by the government to thread reels, push faders and learn. I also recorded my first 2 EPs there. (I love Canada). I composed songs on guitar, performed solo and with a band, charted on campus radio, dj'd at CKDU.
I studied International Development Studies at Dalhousie University but invested more as 'Artist in Residence' at St. Mary's University's Creativity Lab. In '94, I started professionally producing and sound mixing (studio & location film) while working a corporate job. Artist Management was a natural fit for me so, in '96 I moved back to Toronto to study Recording Arts Management at The Harris Institute for the Arts.
In 1997 after artist managing, producing albums and working sound on indie films and commercials, I ventured into MUSIC SUPERVISION for film/TV and have been responsible for the music production/licensing for over 50 professional Film/TV productions (animated and live action). I've worked on Genie, Gemini and Emmy Award winning productions. I have worked on Productions from the following countries: Canada, USA, Ireland, New Zealand, South Africa, France, and England. My current list of clients include Canada's top film and television producers.
For several years amongst and between, I worked as a Logistical Consultant and Assistant to the Executive Director of Doctors Without Borders (MSF-Canada). In 2000, I was invited as a Delegate to participate in the Peacebuilding Consultations at DFAIT in Ottawa, with focus on War-Affected Children. I used this experience and resources to start CIMA (Coalition for Internationally Mobilised Artists). I was subsequently hired by WarChild Canada as a researcher/writer/event producer.
Since 1994, my professional music/film/tv associations have been: The Mariposa Folk Foundation (Board of Directors), The Khyber Arts Society (Board of Directors), The Academy of Canadian Film & Television (Member), SOCAN (Member), and Association MSF-Canada (Voting Member) I've been a jury member/chair, panelist, guest lecturer for: The Gemini Awards, The Great Canadian Music Dream, MIANS, World Wide Short Film Festival, Canadian Songwriters Association, CIRPA, Atlantic Film Festival, CMW, Harris Institute for the Arts, Saskatchewan Recording Industry Association, NXNE '07
