Mt. Pleasant String Band

Mt. Pleasant is a four piece bluegrass/old-time band with a raw, high energy sound all there own. When you go to a Mt. Pleasant show you are sure to hear many of your favorite bluegrass tunes, but what sets them apart is there library of obscure old songs. Mt. Pleasant aims to educate there listeners on the other side of bluegrass, the old songs that many people have forgotten or never heard. Mt. Pleasant has a way of putting there stamp on the old tunes, often times arranging them in a unique way, or reviving the old-time versions. They also intend to leave there mark with there fantastic originals, based on rambling, heartache, hard times, hard living, and hard work.
