"You can't cut the man to fit the coat."

About Me

Band Bio? Hmmm, well, there is no band per se. There is only myself and Dave Pine from Pinetrax Recording Studio. I write a song and then present it to him and from there try to muster up the cash to record it.It is actually rather strange that my sound is Hip Hop based as I grew up hating rap for the most part and was an avid fan of progressive metal. But one night I was asked by a friend if I'd be interested in playing some piano over a few beats for a local rapper. I obliged. And after about a year of freestyling and co-writing rap tunes, I eventually developed the hybrid that would become Stamina. On this site you are not only going to hear my music. If you look, you'll notice that I write quite a lot of blogs. The reason for this is, in a nutshell, because of the fact that both music and literature are my two favorite methods of reaching out to people. If it weren't for those two things, I would be more of a recluse than I already am.I am not trying to be famous. I am not trying to be different. I am not even trying to compete with other artists. I am simply putting myself out there in hopes that the right people will listen and read what I have to say. By "right people" I mean ANYONE whose interest can be peaked by more than just whatever reality show is on TV. I want to meet deep people, interesting people. And through my music and writing I hope that they'll want to meet me too.

Band Members: Who Is Stamina? (real name: Dan Kelley) It has always proved a difficult task to define my style, to fit it into a neat box to which can be attached a convenient label. It has been my lot in life, regardless what I am doing, to remain elusive. This has never presented a problem for me, as I am less concerned with fitting in as I am with breaking out. I feel it would be a pity to limit the creative process to one genre alone; the spectrum of human experience is far too vast to be restricted to one exclusive mode of expression. To do so would be tantamount to an attempt at fitting the entire ocean into a water bottle. So, who is Stamina? It depends on who's listening. My songs can be likened to a river that is about to fall into the sea: it takes one glance back at the terrain it has traversed and then, just before it falls into the ocean, it sings its song to the path it took to get there. Then there are times when my songs are simply hymns to the ocean itself. We are all of us defined by where we have been and rarely by who we are; so, if you wish to know where I've been, listen to the music. If you wish to know who I am, then listen to the silence between the notes.
