Jeff and Jen and Ryan and Katie make 4!!

About Me

Contact Box Table by MyWackoSpace.comI'm a wife, mom of a Shetland Sheepdog, and a mom to a wonderful little boy named Ryan who finally came home to us in April 2005 and a mom to a little girl named Katie who finally came home to us in March 2006.
I was born and raised in Upstate NY (no not Poughkeepsie here folks and no I'm not at the Canadian border either). I'm roughly 3.5 hours from NYC, 3.5 to Montreal and 3.5 to Boston.
I'm a college grad going on 10+ years now. I met my husband while at college. He went to a college 15 minutes away from mine. We met through a mutual friend of ours. We got married shortly after he graduated from college.
After moving from NJ back up to upstate NY, we bought a 4 bedroom 2 1/2 bath colonial house on a half acre and are making it a home (we're still working on it).
I found out that I have endometriosis and was officially diagnosed with it in January 2000. It's a debilitating painful disease for which there it no cure...only temporary help for symptoms. For more info on it check out Endometriosis Research Center . I was diagnosed with that via lap in January 2000 and had another surgery for it in August 2002 (to find out why I couldn't conceive). March is Endometriosis Awareness Month.
I also have fibromyalgia syndrome. I was diagnosed with it in May 2000. It's another painful disease that can cause widespread pain, fatigue, TMJ, sleep disorder-alpha EEG anomaly, IBS, chronic headaches, PMS, painful periods, chest pain, and what's commonly called 'fibro fog'. Fibro fog is cognitive or memory impairment. For more information on fibromyalgia see Fibromyalgia Network . May 12th is Fibromyalgia Awareness Day.
I also from time to time suffer from chest pain which has landed me in the ER. It's called Costochondritis. It's when you have an inflammation of place where the upper ribs with the cartilage join the sternum. For me, my pain is almost always on my left side. When I went into the ER I thought I was having a heart attack. I woke up from a sound sleep because I couldn't breathe, the pain in my chest hurt too much to breathe. That intense pain lasted nearly 20 minutes. I went into the ER to have it checked out and was diagnosed with it. I have bouts of it from time to time but now that I know what it is, I'm not as afraid as I first was. For more information see Costochondritis Information
I'm a stay at home wife and a stay at home mom. But my job is to promote the awareness of endometriosis, fibromyalgia, and how wonderful adoption can be.
National Adoption Month is November.
My love in men's college basketball: my alma mater of course!!
My best way to spend my free time (yeah right!!!): listening to soothing music while reading a book, working on my children's baby books or listening to the rain fall upon the roof.
What I want in a friend: somebody who listens to me, somebody who I can tell my secrets to without being judged or stared at, somebody who doesn't judge me, somebody who accepts my limitations, somebody who doesn't lie to me or talk about me behind my back, somebody who I feel comfortable enough to cry on or vent to when things hit the fan, somebody who likes me for me, somebody who I can trust with my very life, somebody who can accept that I have a multicultural family, and somebody who accepts a multicultural family without any hesitation, words behind my back or to my face, or dirty looks.
Any relationship, whether it's with your family members, your significant other, or with your friends, is work and you need to want to work at the relationship to keep it up...otherwise you risk losing it forever. Nothing in life comes easy or is simple...otherwise it wouldn't be adventurous, disappointing, fun, rewarding, confusing, and well LIFE!!!!!!

My Interests

music, adoption, reading books, listening to Coast to Coast AM, listening to Coast to Coast with Ian Punnett, gardening and more.

I'd like to meet:

The Boss not just at a concert but in person face-to-face where I could talk and listen to him for hours if not days, weeks, months, years.

Also would like to meet Ryan and Katie's birthmom and foster family. I couldn't thank them enough for what they did for us.
