About Me

"...the author has pulled off a rare and amazing literary feat: he has crafted a work that is highly personal and gut-wrenchingly real, yet surreal, dream-like and convincingly fantastic. The novel is both intuitive and masterful in execution, and in this regard it shares more with the spirit of modernist painting than it does with postmodern literature. Young speaks to us in a voice that is authentic and thoroughly lacking in pretension."
- Jody Franklin, editor, Mungbeing magazine
check out my novel Click at anothersky.org . seriously. this project was years in the making... and the publishing paradigm behind it is something new too. you can read the whole thing online for free. you can buy a cool trade paperbook at a price you set. basically, between the novel and the site you'll get a better sense of who i am and what i stand for than myspace could ever achieve.
if you dig it, spread the word - i need all the grass roots i can get.
the goofy mumbo jumbo marketing speak:
Intelligent fiction for the mentally unhinged. Click is urban grit of the highest order - a first person romp through the unreality of an unnamed metropolis in which the protagonist is stalked by his inner demons while half-heartedly trying to save the world. Fun and excitement for the whole dysfuntional family, Click is not to be missed.
the 'back of book' blurb:
Click's hero is experiencing glitches in the universe. He may have tapped into a strange ability which gives him control over the world around him. Or, there's the disturbing possibility that he's a case study in paranoid schizophrenia. After all, they might be after him.
He's falling apart and to make matters worse, his girlfriend may just be crazier than he is. Forced to face his fears and come to terms with his own flawed nature, he must discover what it means to truly evolve.
thank you, kristopher

my old myspace profile read:
when i was four, i wanted to be an aborigine in the outback. at five, i was confident i'd be a professional gambler (my gramps taught me draw poker). at six, my goal was to become a bank robber. by the time i was eight, i'd accomplished all three. so now i just sit idly on the porch reliving the glory days of my youth, sipping lemonade and yelling incoherently at passerby.

My Interests

my kitten, my bike, eyes, writing, making stuff, ink, sun/trickster gods, cliffs/rooftops, ambient sounds, mythology, totems, used books, class war, synchronicity, cards, travel, everything/nothing, media/propaganda/meme theory, scars, sculpey, tofu, cooking, minimalism, free bins, full contact dominos, crossing the street together.

I'd like to meet:

jacks or better to open - a patchwork heathen and miscreant. someone who plays with their food and the stars in the sky. smart smart smart. and sweet (to me at least. and animals.) quirky like a fox, a cute mixed metaphor that never quite fits in. someone to cook and make things with. a linguistic ninja who doesn't mind that i can't pronounce half the words i know. someone not allergic to cats or tofu.

really, though? there aren't any rules. at least, none that i can figure out. and even if i did figure them out, i'd probably break them.

you know who you are.

i am thinking it's a sign that the freckles
in our eyes are mirror images and when
we kiss they're perfectly aligned
and i have to speculate that god himself
did make us into corresponding shapes like
puzzle pieces from the clay
and true, it may seem like a stretch, but
its thoughts like this that catch my troubled
head when you're away when i am missing you to death
when you are out there on the road for
several weeks of shows and when you scan
the radio, i hope this song will guide you home

they will see us waving from such great
heights, 'come down now,' they'll say
but everything looks perfect from far away,
'come down now,' but we'll stay...

i tried my best to leave this all on your
machine but the persistent beat it sounded
thin upon listening
and that frankly will not fly. you will hear
the shrillest highs and lowest lows with
the windows down when this is guiding you home
