About Me

He was born out of the turbulent 1960s to mild-mannered southern parents. Raised on the not so mean streets of suburban Detroit, he and his friends moved in packs always seeking escape from the disappointing realities which surrounded them. It was a time before progress had fully engulfed the area, and there were still forests to dwell and meet for great evenings of forts and bonfires, beer and cigarettes when they could get them. Always staying a step ahead of the local police, who hunted them in the night as if they were escaped fugitives, they spent many an early morning roaming raising hell to the dismay of the nearest homeowners. We didn't have great video games and we didn't have internet. All we had was a portable radio and some cassette tapes, and some young energy. At 17 he got an old car, and thus began his exploration of the outer areas and the inner city. Friends found new places to meet in the clubs of the city (that would let them in),the driveins, the rock quarrys and the more secluded forests down by the airport, and the ruins of large institutions long gone into neglect. This was the world that they lived for, in those forgotten places they could relax and have fun. In the eerie places mystery was always in the air, and it was an exciting aura to dwell within.
With college years came all the mistakes and growth that come with those years of young adult hood. Old friendships died and new friendships were born, romances blossomed and withered, he felt the joys of success and the pains of failure and powerlessness. All this experience leaving an impression on his soul. Traveling across the country became a passion. Driving to faraway places with friends for some camping, or to some concerts in the summertime, seemed to get them back to who they were again. That pleasure did survive. Going to see bands at downtown bars and the summer festivals filled their weekends with excitement. Thats what they worked for, lived for. They all had houses now to have parties and live their own lives. In the years to follow friends would find their own paths apart, to marriage, to service, to relocation, to hopelessness and addiction, to death.
In his middle adult years he can look back on early times and make some reflections as to what has driven him to survive until now: Pleasure of friendships, development of self, exploration and enjoyment of this vast world.

I'd like to meet:

They call us computer geeks, techno dorks, internet addicts. They wonder what we see in a virtual life on the info highway. What they don't realize is that this is real life. These are real people and we have real relationships full of fulfillment, knowledge, and love. we meet in real life if we can, but if we cannot we are always wishing it could be so.

So stereotype us how you may. Decide that this life is not for you. Criticize us for how we spend our free time. We are satisfied to expand our lives any possible way. We are pleased to make new friends across the world and strength the bonds we already have. We are the geeks, dorks, outcasts, etc in your world. But your world sucks. The world we make for ourselves is as fulfilling as we can possibly make it. We are supreme, and this is the future.
