If I Should Fall from Grace With Gord

About Me

Just to let everyone know...I'm a bit silly. Never take life too seriously. As well; Please don't take anything here to be mean or vindictive. That's not my intention.

I used to work in Animation & Graphics alittle while ago when I lived in Toronto. I also used to do Sketch Comedy, Stand-Up, and Improvisational Comedy (that last one was my favorite). But due to the cut throat competiton and lack of pay it was easy to stick to the day jobs. There use to be the occasional job in Photography (Band Shots, Portraits, Stills for Film & Television, Movie Posters, and Ad shots), although it was fun, it never paid well. In Canada artists never get paid their worth (or so it seems).

I moved back to exotic NB to return to school (college this time), and get a piece of paper (oddly enough in graphics).

I still work on my art. Be it Photography, Cartooning, Animation, Graphics, Storyboards, Conceptual Art, or Fine Art (Realistic or Abstract). Apart from that, there's Martial Arts (I train as well as teach a kids class at the Native Friendship Center in North Bay).

My background is French, Native(Algonkin Tribe), and Okinawan (Southern Japanese)...if you need a colour, light orange (but I'm paler than most of my friends-I hate that, my whole family has colour except me). Plus, I have a red beard .

I'm a bigtime movie buff and will pretty much watch everything, lately though there's been a wave of bad movies with a few good ones here and there, so I've actually turned a few off without ever going back to finish them. Luckily there appears to be a whole slew of good movies coming out more recently.

Oh yeah. I have insomnia big time. It's a great way to get alot of Reading, Movie Watching and Art done (you'll notice alot of the photographs I've taken are done at night).

Right now I practice Yang Style Tai Chi Chaun & Kempo Karate - which is a mixture of Karate and Kung FuWhenever I get a chance, I'm taking pictures. From portraits to landscapes, from film to digital. I love it all.Cartooning is my big thing here, but it's not my limit. For better illustrations I have to work harder and take my time when I draw.In this area Watercolours are my forte. I also love to work with Acyrlic paint, and Cel Vinyl if I ever get the chance.

Have you ever heard of the School of the Laughing Buddha?
You start everyday by laughing (and if you can, you end everyday with a good laugh as well).
Here's a video of a kid that makes me laugh everytime I watch it.

For Those of You Who Don't Know Me (and Those Who Do), I Am Silly. It is my nature. But I am a Nice Guy (just ask my friends).

Everyone's a Friend unless proven otherwise.

I'd like to meet:

Friends I haven't met

Music:

Tom Waits- Swordfish Trombone
Primus- Sailing the Seas of Cheese

Glenn Gould - Bach: Goldberg Variations 1955
Here's an example of what he's like.
An odd man as well as a genius.

Glenn Gould plays Bach

*Just for the record: I pretty much listen to everything. It's easier to tell you what I don't like (for example: techno + country = music/pain, these two should never be combined).
(In no specific order)

Movies:

Truth be told, I'm a big time movie fanatic. I love watching movies. I like every genre of film and will pretty much watch everything. I am however picky about some actors. If a peticular actor is going to be in an upcoming film and I like this actors work, there's no choice in my mind I'll go and see it. For example "Come on man, it's got Christopher Walkin you gotta go see it now!".

Television:

Naruto (Anime)
One of my favourites.
The way I describe it to others is that it's a Harry Potter for Ninjas.
Good story, lots of fights with great action and it's very funny.
Well worth a watch.
Full Metal Alchemist (Anime)
This series is one of my favourites in both Animation (style and technique) and Story. It's amazingly well written. The first few episodes come off as well.... typical anime. The thrid episode slowly begins to get you hooked. By (roughly) the tenth episode, the story builds to such a degree that you go right to the next episode without waiting. I've gotten a few friends addicted to this show. They've said things like, "You bastard!!! Give me more!!!! What happens next?!!! More, More, More!!!" In other words, it's worth a look.
Bleach (Anime)
Great big story archs filled with lots of action. There's sword fighting throughout this series. It starts slow but once it begins to move, it moves fast.
Samurai Champloo (Anime)
This one's Awesome. Great style and amazing fight scenes.
The animation is smooth and the action flows beautifully.
Not to mention the main bad ass is Okinawan.
Wah hahahaha.
Blood Trinity (Anime)
Post Armedgeon Priests battle it out with Vampires! Cool.
Ergo Proxy (Anime)
Great Series. It's Blade Runner meets I Robot with a dash of Matrix and a whole lot of the CyberPunk genre.
Set in a futuristic utopia where every citizen has a personal android. This society is suddenly plagued with a virus called "Cogito" that causes any android infected to gain emotions.
Murders insue and the hunt for "infected" androids begin.
The story unfolds into quite the mystery with politics and massive cover-ups.
This show has amazing design and style. It's presented in cinematic form.
Well worth watching.

*One quick note for anyone who doesn't know this. Canadian television is a mixture of Canadian shows,as well as American, British and oddly enough Japanese Cartoons(anime) translated into French.

Fugit All!!!
I like reading them, but not as much as getting a chance to see them performed
( I miss "The Dream in High Park". It was plays done during the Summer in Toronto's High Park. You'd pay what you could and sit on a hillside that caught a cool breeze. The plays would start at sunset and by the end of the play it was dark and the stage was really bright. Beautiful really, I miss that ).
I like Marlowe as well.
and Blake...
Aw, heck. I forgot Robert Jordan.

Heroes:

Sergio Aragones - (Creator & Cartoonist of "Groo the Wanderer" as well as all the marginals in "Mad Magazine"), he's also the worlds fastest cartoonist.

His Kung Fu is amazing in all his films.

Old Time Comedians:
