The Usual Suspecks

WHOP IT!

About Me

When the funk is in the air around the Boston music scene, chances are there are four very likely culprits responsible. They can be heard all over the Northeast, constantly gigging with some of the hardest working musicians in New England. They can also be found playing each and every Sunday night at the world renowned Wally’s Café in Boston. They have come to be known as THE USUAL SUSPECKS. This musical conglomerate composed of extremely talented musicians introduces Corey Bernhard on keys, Louis Cato on bass, Khris Royal on electronic alto and soprano saxophones and Andrew Marsh on drums. The group consists of highly trained musicians from Berklee College of Music, The New Orleans Center of the Arts, and Harvard University. THE USUAL SUSPECKS bring an unusual and very contagious blend of funk, hip-hop, R&B, and jazz to the ears and souls of audiences throughout the city. Andrew Marsh, graduate from Berklee and southern boy straight out of Georgia has introduced this group as a way to bring his thoughts and views of what “feel good funk music” should be to life. He debuted this group immediately at Wally’s Café. Wally’s is a training ground of sorts for some of the most accomplished musicians to cut their musical teeth while in Boston, as well as the most sought after “musician’s gig” to have in the city. THE USUAL SUSPECKS target songs that have brought warmth to everyone’s hearts in the 70’s, 80’s, 90’s, and current times, rearranging them and putting their own “unusual” twist to them. They incorporate the back-to-basics ethos of a hardworking garage band, while fully embracing the smooth melodies of contemporary R&B and touches from the hip-hop and jazz genres. Let the celebration begin because REAL music is back in the form of THE USUAL SUSPECKS.
