Things My Momma STILL Don't Know About Me...

About Me

Who I am lies somewhere between life and death. If you think you know me, look closely, because what you're seeing is a reflection of yourself. Don't keep it, return it or give it to anyone else, for it is meant to be seen, not held.

My Interests

Quotes of the Day:"To love means to open ourselves to the negative as well as the positive - to grief, sorrow, and disappointment as well as to joy, fulfillment, and an intensity of consciousness we did not know was possible before."
- Rollo May "The way you spend your time is a result of the way you see your time and the way you really see your priorities."
- Stephen Covey

I'd like to meet:

Those willing to help and be helped. People who would have faith in me, especially when I fuck up. Anyone who can open my mind to things I never saw before and new ways of looking at old things. Willing recipients of my ear, heart, mind, soul, spirit...you know, give and takers...no full time fakers, flakers or heart breakers...humble people....please and thank you.

Music:

Great vocalists. Drums. Oh, and bass....guitars, yeah, definitely those. Oh, and piano. Yeah, pianos are cool. Other things sometimes too, but not often.

Movies:

Closer, THE NOTEBOOK, Pump Up The Volume, Some Kind of Wonderful, Pretty in Pink, Breakfast Club, Heathers, Four Weddings and a Funeral, Night on Earth, Trainspotting, Ocean's Eleven just to name a few.

Books:

Ones with pictures and large text and glossy, sometimes scented pages.

Heroes:

Smart people. The Doctor who cut my chest open and sewed up my heart. Wanna see my scars? I'll show you if you ask nicely. Oh yeah, and the woman who gave birth to me.

Telling My Own Future

You know, it's funny....I was thinking about this poem, one of a few favorites from high school.  Just recently I realized that even though I had my high school crush in mind at the time, I may h...

If it weren't out of habit....

I'd come here less often.  Instead, I'd be here:  find me here if you like.  It's much prettier than this place, if you ask me and much more interesting, for the time being.  ...

Like a lightbulb...

"Next to life itself, the power to choose is your greatest gift.  This power and freedom stand in stark contrast to the mind-set of  victimism and culture of blame so prevalent in society today.  Fun...

Holy Shit, King Britt!

Alternatively titled:  Sweet Sleep, Where Are You? In keeping with the often fortuitous and serendipitous nature of my life, I found myself dancing my ass off to King Britt's baddass DJing skills...

I don't know what's worse...

Having chosen to communicate to someone I care about in a way that was so wrought with anger and harsh criticism (when I already had a somewhat more subtle message prepared) or finding that the instin...

The Paradox of Choice: Why More is Less

Below  is one of the more thought provoking articles I've read in a while about how having more choices, though it may seem to offer a person more freedom and therefore, satisfaction, has created...

Words Unspoken

This is an interesting one.  A work in progress, but I like it and wanted to put it out there anyway.  Inspired by...the idea of one's desire to get closer to someone but 'failing' due to im...

Henry Rollins, I Love You: Part Deux

Letters from Henry Really fucking funny, even if you're not up to snuff on Ann Coulter.  Although if you really, really want to be (nerd!), here's a good place to start. ...

I Wanna Be An Elevator Singer...

No really.  I often sing in elevators  - generally when I'm the only one inside, but I'm thinking this needs to change.  I quite like the sound of my own voice, to be completely honest....
