Well here we go, the Drag and DJ history of Brianna Lee.First of all let me introduce myself, my official name is Larry. Born in 19** (bleh bleh) in Waterford Ct.
Raised by my amazing mother Annette and my father Glenn Sr. I am the youngest of 6. Oldest
to youngest....Dennis, Christine, Allan, Glenn Jr., Lisa-Jean, then me, the *Suprise Package*I had always been into music trying to beat match in the back seat of my moms car with a portable
cassette player to match what was playing on the radio in the car. I used to get in trouble for recording
over my fathers 8 track tapes to make personal 8 tracks for my moms car with songs I liked. PS that
8 track recorder was an old Radio Shack recorder. lol Heck I even remember buying Michael Jackson's
"Thriller" On video and 12" Record at K-mart back in the day!In Martinsville Indiana I decided to do a talent show where I dressed as Boy George performing....
Karma Chamelion. I won first place! From that I went into high school doing once again Boy George but
with a group. Tammy Clephane on Drums, Dotty Preston on Guitar, Jeff on Bass and Tim Mason as my
gymnast for the song "I'll Tumble For Ya". We lost that year to 2 girls doing "Cruel Stupid Bopper" A mix
that intrigued me into mixing music. Thanks Girls! You may have won but thanks for the idea!I was very into Culture Club as you can tell, not really into Madonna. My bedroom walls were covered with
teen magazine cut outs of the group. The town I lived in was very red-neck and would'nt even dance to
Michael Jackson at our high school dances. I praised the DJ that they hired from Indianapolis that came to
spin our dances. He was great! He shoved Michael down their throaght! People sat down and refused to dance
because he was black. How sad was that!!! The town was so vicious back then I fought back in a good way.
I have a special letter to share with you as well:
This gentleman found me on myspace and here is what was said:
Hello. My name is Stephen....I graduated MHS in 1989. I was just woundering if your name is Larry....
or did you do a talent contest at one of the middle schools in Martinsville, dressed as Boy George, and
singing Karma Chamelion??
I replied...........Yes that was me. (The reason he found me is I am school moderator for myspace) & here
is his reply again.
I wasn't sure you would know who I was, I think I am a few years younger. My name is Stephen *****...The reason I wanted to see if this was you or not, is because I wanted to tell you THANK YOU...
You are probably wondering why, so I will tell you..I am gay, and everyone at the time I remember you said you were gay. For me, you were a great influence. You were not afraid to be you....And now, I don't know if you know it or not, but there are a lot of gay people coming out in Martinsville... So.....Thank You for being you and making me see that it was ok to be who you are.....Stephen
When I got this letter I was in tears! I did go back home a few years ago and saw a manager of Wal-mart was gay,
one of my mothers old co-workers that was so redneck had a black boyfriend. So yeah, Did I make a difference?
I would like to think I did! It was nice to see pride stickers on bumpers there! Now after that letter lets continue:When I was 16 I decided to do drag, my first drag name will never be exposed on here as it was not proper.
I started performing talent shows at G G's in Indianapolis where my brother, Wes was known as
Miss Wes Sinclair. I was influenced by Ricki Lee, My brother and Roxy Powers. I did impersonations of
Divine, Sandy Patty (Yes the gospel singer), Patty Labelle, Gloria Estefan etc etc.
I finally landed a night with one of my dear friends Donna DeVane....Find her in my top friends list, if you can:)
Anyway it was fun yet short lived. I moved to Brattleboro Vermont with my sister Lisa and discovered a bar called
"Colors" which was in the basement of an old Church. Tony the owner and Bernie Harnett the DJ gave me a chance
to learn how to DJ and continue to do my shows. I learned alot from Bernie and my friend Michael Dean. Then as
I progressed a new club opened next door called "Cahoots" (Pictures Below). Myself and Michael were the resident
DJ's and we still supported Colors. Both clubs kind of worked hand in hand, which is rare for the gay bar scene.
I did shows with many friends, Candice B Love, Mikel, Jeff and Porn star Chris Lord. The club was also a restaurant
and I was also the morning waiter at 3am.I moved from Vermont to Indiana then to Florida with my mother in 1991. I found a club in the Guide magazine
called "Key Largo" which I called and was hired by the owner Sue Hannah. She also owned "Faces" here in Orlando.
Sue Hannah passed away in 2007. She was an amazing woman! I miss her! Besides working at Faces I also
worked as DJ & Entertainer at City Lights in Orlando. Then progressivly worked at Parliament House, Mannequins
at Walt Disney World, Bartended at Pleasure Island...yeah bartender Bri- :)I took a break from the music and came back in 1999 to perform an open mic night performing a self made
Cher megamix. DJ Anthony Evans asked me who made that mix and I told him I did. He asked me if I was interested
in DJ'ing and I said well.......I can part time. Then I became 3 nights a week, 4 nights as a waitress doing shows
on the side. Now .......The Rapid Fire.........I met Ceevox an amazing singer, I became her makeup artist and road
manager then her full manager for 3.5 years. Traveled around the country and to Sydney. DJ Anthony retired from
DJ'ing so I took his spot as lead DJ of the Parliament House Resort. Where thanks to them listening to me suggesting
artists for bookings, I have met alot of amazing singers. Including my sister "Amuka" where I had the honor of
doing two remixes for her with my music production partner Josh Riptide. The mixes were of "U Aint That Good" and
"I Want More". "I Want More" hit 1 on Billboard Dance Charts on 5/20/06! My first official release with Josh. Now currently I am still residing at the Parliament House Resort which is my home, where my kids come to dance
and get their work out. I am currently in new productions taking it slow as I am still learning.........yes still learning
even after the 1! I'm not bashfull, I tell the truth.I know theres some blanks and if you want to know more ask me! I do shows mainly for charity benefits and now
currently booking out to other venues as DJ & Entertainer. PH is my home, I doubt I will ever reside at another club
in my lifetime! Don & Susan, the owners, are my mom and dad in Orlando and I cherish them. Now for the newest update! I am currently writing songs, getting ready for new productions, and sorry boys! I am
taken by the most amazing Man!!!!!!!!!!!!!! His name is Denis! So if your on myspace to find a new bf, im not available!May you have an amazing life, may we all be friends! May we get BUSH out of the white house soon!Peace Love & Dance MusicDJ Brianna LeeCreate or get your
