About Me

MO3 (Phyllis Grant) is a rap and spoken word artist from Pabineau First Nation -a Mi'gmaq community in Northeastern New Brunswick, Canada. In 2004, she received an ECMA nomination for her work with her brother, Red Suga.A unique female voice from the east, this innovative mother of three offers a reflective approach to expressing what she lives and feels everyday. The result is a collective array of ideas meant to inspire people to push further -at their own discretion -despite labels, circumstance, statistics, or stereotypes -and have a lot of fun doing it!"Up Risin'", the title track from her upcoming EP, is listed on CBC Radio 3's Top 94 Picks for 2005. To download a podcast featuring MO3, go to cbcradio3.com and look for Podcast #58 - Jun 30. MO3 spends most of her time with her children, husband, and family. Her first animation, Maq and The Spirit of the Woods, produced by the National Film Board of Canada, is in preparation for broadcast (winter, 2007 - nfb.ca)She loves exploring, sketching, writing, and discovering the diverse poetry of following her own path. Highlight: An art showing in New York City in December, 2005, at the Nathan Cummings Foundation Gallery. Her artwork is currently on display at The Trickster Gallery, September 12- December 5, 2006, in Chicago. This traveling exhibit is organised by Honor The Earth (honorearth.org)
