MySpace Layouts MySpace Codes MySpace Backgrounds Hey Hey, my name is Derek and this is my page. I've been playing drums seriously for about 8 or 9 years, starting a band when I was in early middle school and also joining the school band. My first real band that played shows and recorded demos was a ska band, which lasted about 3 years or so. Then I started listening to different styles of music and started Three Fifteen with a few friends. Since then I've been in several different bands and recorded several demos and 7"s, but still no full lengths. I've toured many times in different projects down the East Coast and all across the U.S.
I just finished a year long stint playing with a talented group of rock & roll musicians whose songs are all originals, written by Dave Shaw . The genre is a throwback to the more melodic rock/metal of the 80's. This band has great vocals and puts on an energetic show! In the year I played with David Shaw & the Round Trip we toured down the East Coast in the Summer of '07, and had the great privilege of playing the Whiskey A Go Go in the Fall of '07! They are all great guys and I wish them the best of luck in their future endeavours.
I'm currently playing in a band called Cynthia Fargus. They're a hilarious bunch of guys I know from Massachussetts who are all excellent musicians. I did not play on the songs they have currently on their myspace, but look forward to an EP in the near future, plus tons of shows all over the Northwest area!
I've been living in the Greenpoint/Williamsburg area (Brooklyn) for the last two years and I have received a diploma from a renowned music school in Manhattan called The Collective .
