Former singer and songwriter for The Porter Brothers, Joseph attributes his growth and passion for writing and performing from life experiences - - especially going solo. While his new music is reminiscent of The Porter Brothers style, the color and dimension of his solo writing hints of jazz-like progressions, country sublty and a flavor of folk, evoking musical maturation. His love for music started at a young age jamming to Arena Rock and Disco, both hot on the airwaves. His mother was his earliest influence, letting him 'try / improv' along side her at the piano. Soon his passion escalated to learning several instruments and excelling at piano and rhythm guitar. He awards his writing and composing evolution to studying with legendary composer/musician/professor William Russo, while attending and graduating from Columbia College, Chicago.Joseph was first heard around the world performing with The Porter Brothers and their debut on The Grand Ole Opry Radio Show, Opry Star Spotlight. Their many performances on the Opry Radio Show weren't the be-all-end-all but a great honor and a piece of a much larger puzzle. In addition to working with legendary music publishers Jim Casey & Jerry Phillips (Sun Records), other highlights include their many crowd-pleasing performances at Taste of Chicago CountryFest, The Bluebird Cafe, Naperville's Last Fling and many Nashville venues. Recently Joseph also played keyboards for and hosted a writer's night with with Billy Falcon. He has lived the past eleven years of his life in Nashville transforming himself from an unimposing writer and singer to a serious artist. Prior to his move he lived two places: Chicago Suburb of Naperville, Illinois where he spent the teens to college years, and Warren, Ohio where he was born and grew to teenhood. His family originating from Pittsburgh bred him into a die-hard Steelers, Pirates and Penguins fan.In addition to his music, he also lends a hand in the acting ring. In addition to commercials and photo shoots, he can be seen in country music videos for Faith Hill, Jo Dee Messina, Andy Griggs and his personal favorite, the CMA Number 1 Video of the Year, Sara Evans' "Born To Fly," with whom he acted along side as character of Tin Man.Joseph is also actively involved with the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Race for the Cure with Entertainment. Since the passing of several cousins to breast cancer, he has been participating with the Komen Foundation for the past seven years. He suggests checking www.komen.org for information on early detection, research, education, screening and treatment, upcoming Race dates throughout the country and other Komen fundraising events.
