About Me

Wilton Elder has shared the stage with a wide range of popular artists including Marshall Tucker Band, Will Hoge, Soulive, Col. Bruce Hampton, Charlie Hunter, Linda Ronstadt, Derek Trucks Band, The Greyhounds, Brian Jones, Johnny Sketch & The Dirty Notes, Kevin Kinney of Drivin’ N’ Cryin’ and the Dirty Dozen Brass Band.
Elder has been a member of the North Carolina Wind Orchestra and the Rasa Saxophone Quartet, who took the top prize at the 2003 MTNA National Chamber Music Competition in Salt Lake City, UT. The group recently completed the premiere recording of All These Are Scenes of Life…by Allen Anderson which will be out on Albany Records in 2009.
Wilton holds degrees from UNC-Chapel Hill and Michigan State University and currently resides, teaches, records and freelances in Charleston. He has appeared with such local favorites as Lee Barbour , Unkle Funkle, The Sneakers, Brad Henty , and gigs regularly with the Travis Allison Band .
