So. my life is a show,
They make believe that I glow.
But everything eventually starts to slow
It's the ebb and the flow
Even though, I still work through the rain and the snow,
I can’t show any pain, I can’t show woe.
It would ruin the illusion that I'm meant to bestow,
On every one of you. I'm the picture perfect pro
Oh and it wasn’t that long ago,
When there was no, quid pro quo.
I worked for nothin' but now I'm at a new plateau.

My life is a show…
With a smile that comes on with the lights of the stage,
And a bus that some times feels more like a cage.
And I seem to have the sudden urge to turn the page,
Move on to a new age
A new ability, without responsibility
No people looking up at me like I'm some form of nobility
Get rid of this futility, bring in some flexibility
And I'll be happy to show you some of my versatility
Just forget about the fame,
What. so I've been met with acclaim,
In the end I'm just a name,
An image in a frame.
Look beyond the masquerade,
Past the overplayed,
Listen to the music before it all starts to fade.
One last sharade,
One last serenade.
And believe me,
I'm not what you perceive me to be.
The closest you'll get is that first CD
And then its just debris,
But maybe I'm still here to some degree.
May be what I've become,
Is just a shadow of what’s to come,
It's hard to tell the difference, where I've been and
where I come from,
I've gone numb.
